According to information from Dong Nai 5 Hydropower Company, from 13:00 on the same day, the unit continued to increase the spillway discharge to regulate the reservoir due to the impact of prolonged heavy rain in the upstream. The water discharge through the spillway reached 1,452m³/s, through the generator turbine 268.8m³/s, the total water discharge to the downstream reached 1,720.8m³/s.
The flood discharge with a large flow in a short period of time caused the water level of Dong Nai River to rise suddenly, directly threatening residential areas in Cat Tien commune.

On the night of November 20, the leaders and Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Cat Tien commune activated the emergency flood and storm prevention plan. Police, military , militia and self-defense forces and organizations were mobilized to the villages to support the people.

Authorities focused on assisting in moving assets, especially valuables, to high, safe locations. Notably, many large-scale dairy farms located in flood-prone areas received emergency assistance in evacuating their livestock.

In addition, Cat Tien commune authorities proactively prepared plans to evacuate people in areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides to safe places. Local forces also instructed people to reinforce their houses, limit travel in flooded areas, areas with strong currents, and always keep in touch to be ready to respond in case of a worse situation.

Local authorities recommend that people regularly update information from authorities, raise vigilance, and coordinate with on-site support forces to ensure safety of people and property.
Currently, heavy rains continue to occur in the upstream area. Cat Tien Commune maintains 24/7 on-duty, closely monitoring the flood situation and is ready to deploy emergency response plans when necessary.
