"Ao ba ba past and present

(HGO) - On the afternoon of September 16, at the Provincial Radio and Television Station, a Cultural Exchange took place with the theme "Ao Ba Ba Past and Present - Emotions", an activity within the Ao Ba Ba Festival - Hau Giang 2023.

Attending the event were Mr. Tran Van Huyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Tran Van Chinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, together with leaders of departments, branches, sectors, unions of the province, districts, towns, cities and students from high schools and colleges in the area.

The speakers attending the seminar were famous people who understood Southern culture, especially the Ao Ba Ba, the charm of Southern women from the past to the present: Writer Nguyen Thi Xuan Phuong; researcher Huynh Ngoc Trang; Dr. Ethan C. Brown, lecturer at Fulbright University Vietnam; Prof. Dr. Bui Chi Trung, Aichi Shukutoku University, Japan; designer Minh Hanh, People's Artist Tra Giang...

The speakers shared stories about traditions, cultural identity, and emotions in their lives with Southern culture and the Ao Ba Ba.

Thereby, expressing interesting perspectives, concerns and expectations about promoting this unique cultural feature in modern life, both preserving cultural identity and interacting with global culture.

From the story of Ao Ba Ba, the speakers also shared many ideas to promote cultural values from the upcoming Ao Ba Ba Festival organized by Hau Giang, which is the beginning to build a separate brand, contributing to preserving and promoting cultural identity, creating motivation for Hau Giang to develop.

Speaking at the cultural exchange, Mr. Dong Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the valuable feelings and deep concern of the speakers participating in the program.
