Applying virtual reality technology in exhibitions at Vietnam Film Festival 2025

On the morning of November 21, at Lam Son Park (Sai Gon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Vietnam Film Festival held the opening ceremony of a photo exhibition with the theme "Ho Chi Minh City rises with the country through a cinematic perspective". The event was organized by the Vietnam Film Institute under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Ha, Director of the Vietnam Film Institute, said that the exhibition space is a cross-section, multi-dimensional perspective of cinema and photography artists on Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City from the historical years of the two resistance wars against invasion, liberating the South, unifying the country to the period of innovation, integration and development today.

The new feature of the exhibition is the application of modern technology to build a mixed reality space (Mixed Reality - MR) and arrange a 360-degree photo booth area to enhance many emotional experiences as well as interesting interactions for visitors.

The Organizing Committee hopes that with concise content and vivid display, the exhibition will attract and strongly spread to the masses, domestic and foreign tourists about the beauty of the national spirit and Vietnamese people in general, and Ho Chi Minh City in particular in the cause of protecting and building the Fatherland to develop.

The exhibition "HCMC rises with the country through the perspective of cinema" introduces more than 200 printed images extracted from documents and cinematographic works archived at the Vietnam Film Institute; documents and cinematographic works collected from the Department of Culture and Sports , Department of Tourism, Television Station, and HCMC Cinema Association about filming locations, people, life, the process of innovation, integration and development of HCMC. The exhibition content includes 3 stages:

The period of Liberation of the South and National Reunification (1945 - 1975) with printed images extracted from a number of feature films and documentaries reflecting the struggle for Liberation of the South and National Reunification. Documentaries: Battle of Moc Hoa, Tra Vinh Campaign, Joyful Victory of Saigon, The Faces of the Years ...; feature films: First Love, Rising Wind, Monsoon Season, Wild Fields, The Upside-Down Card Game, Saigon Special Forces, Liberation of Saigon, Tunnels: The Sun in the Dark.

The period of national construction and development (1976 - 1985) with images from a number of feature films and documentaries reflecting the construction process and changes of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City after the country's reunification: National Festival, Saigon in the early days of liberation, Saigon Rain, Saigon through the eyes of foreigners, The city of each of us, The last sin, Far and near, The bitter taste of love ...

The exhibition runs until November 25.

Previously, the delegation attending the 2025 Vietnam Film Festival, led by Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and Co-Head of the Steering Committee of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival, offered flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park.

From 10:30 am on November 21, the Organizing Committee also distributed free tickets to attend the opening night of the Vietnam Film Festival 2025, which will be held from 7:00 pm on the same day at Thong Nhat Hall. Hundreds of spectators lined up very early to receive tickets to attend the event.
