According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10 p.m., the center of the low pressure area was at about 19.7 degrees North latitude; 109.2 degrees East longitude. The strongest wind in the center of the low pressure area was below level 6 (below 39 km/h).
It is forecasted that in the next 12 hours (from 10:00 p.m. on October 20), the low pressure area will continue to move mainly in the southwest direction and gradually dissipate.
The Hydrometeorological Agency warned: “Due to the influence of the strengthening cold air, strong northeast winds and high waves will continue to prevail in the Gulf of Tonkin. It is necessary to pay attention to the forecast bulletins for strong winds and high waves at sea.”
Currently (October 21), cold air has affected most of the Northeast, some places in the North Central and Northwest. At Bach Long Vy station, there is strong Northeast wind at level 6, gusting to level 8-9.
On land, on October 21, cold air continued to affect other places in the North Central region and some places in the Northwest. Northeast winds inland were strong at level 2-3, coastal areas were strong at level 4-5, gusting at level 6-7.
On October 21-22, in the North and North Central regions, the night and morning will be cold, and in some places in the northern mountainous regions, it will be cold. During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North and North Central regions will be from 19-22 degrees Celsius, while in the mountainous regions of the North, it will be from 16-19 degrees Celsius, and in some places in the high mountains, it will be below 14 degrees Celsius.
At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin, there are strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas; waves 2-3m high. The northern area of the North East Sea has strong northeast winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 9, rough seas, waves 2-4m high.
According to the meteorological agency's forecast, all boats, anchorages, aquaculture areas, and sea dykes in this area will be affected by strong winds and big waves.
