During the week of May 8-14, "APT." continued its impressive run on the Official Singles Chart. For its 29th consecutive week on the chart, the song only dropped one spot to No. 25.
"APT." has now surpassed BTS' Jimin's "Who" to become the second-longest charting song by a K-pop artist on the Official Singles Chart, behind only PSY's smash hit "Gangnam Style" (which charted for 55 weeks when it was first released in 2012).
“APT.” is the opening track for the full album "Rosie" consisting of 12 songs that Rosé will release on December 6.
The song, co-written by Rosé and Bruno Mars, is inspired by a popular drinking game in Korea called “Apartment”, pronounced “apateu” in Korean.
The two artists agreed to keep the Korean pronunciation of “apateu” (abbreviated as APT.) as a way to honor the Blackpink member's roots.
"APT." is a pop-punk song with a cheerful, energetic melody. In the MV, the two artists show a fun, adorable interaction. The moment Rosé kisses Bruno Mars on the cheek went viral on social media.
The MV has reached 118 million views after 6 days of release.
