During the week of May 8th to 14th, "APT." continued its impressive run on the Official Singles Chart. For the 29th consecutive week on the chart, the song only dropped one position to number 25.
"APT." has now surpassed BTS Jimin's "Who" to become the second-longest-charting song by a K-pop artist on the Official Singles Chart, second only to PSY's massive hit "Gangnam Style" (which charted for 55 weeks upon its initial release in 2012).
“APT.” is the lead single for Rosé's full album "Rosie," which will feature 12 songs and will be released on December 6th.
The song, co-written by Rosé and Bruno Mars, is inspired by a widely known drinking game in South Korea called "Apartment," or "apateu" in Korean.
The two artists agreed to keep the pronunciation of "apateu" (abbreviated as APT.) in Korean, as a way to honor the Blackpink members' roots.
"APT." is a pop-punk track with a cheerful, energetic melody. In the music video, the two artists show playful and adorable interaction. The moment Rosé kisses Bruno Mars on the cheek went viral on social media.
The music video has now reached 118 million views after 6 days of release.
