Christian Norgaard becomes Arsenal's third new signing this summer. |
Arsenal spent 13 million euros to complete the deal. Norgaard signed a 2-year contract and will wear the number 16 shirt at Emirates. For Arsenal, this is the third signing of the summer of 2025, after bringing in goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielder Marton Zubimendi.
Norgaard has been with Brentford for 6 years and is considered a hero in helping the club stay in the Premier League since being promoted in 2021. Last season alone, the Danish midfielder played 34 matches, maintaining stable form and fitness in the harshest environment in England.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said: "We are delighted that Christian is joining Arsenal. He is an international, has Premier League experience, leadership and a strong character, which will be extremely important. Christian is a tactically gifted midfielder, versatile, physically fit and mentally strong. His presence will add depth and balance to the squad."
The Gunners are not done yet. The club is said to be speeding up negotiations to finalise the deal for Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. In addition, two other targets, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, are still on the watch list, as coach Arteta wants to add more creative and innovative pieces to his ambitions to compete for the championship next season.
