Australia increases imports of textile products from Vietnam.

ANTD.VN - Although Vietnam's textile and garment exports decreased this year, exports to Australia still increased.

This deal promotes information on green production, serving the needs of trade connections, investment, and the supply of raw materials and components.

According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Australia, in the first nine months of 2023, Australia's garment imports decreased by 11.5% compared to the same period in 2022.

Nevertheless, Australia's imports of Vietnamese textiles and garments increased by 10% compared to the same period last year.

According to statistics from the General Department of Vietnam Customs, exports of this product category to Australia increased by 8% in the first 10 months compared to the same period in 2022 and by 38.2% compared to the same period in 2021.

The trade deal assesses that the 8% increase in textile and garment export turnover is not only significant in the current context but also ensures the maintenance of the textile and garment export turnover that has achieved a remarkable surge in the last two years (this year maintaining a level of approximately 500 million USD).

In addition, the 17.6% increase in textile and footwear raw materials also opens up new avenues for export and industry cooperation between the two countries.
