Three Vietnamese dishes in the top list of the world's best mixed salads.

Mixed pho ranked highest (position 35), with 4.1/5 points, described as "a variation of traditional Vietnamese pho, popular in Hanoi and during the summer."

According to Taste Atlas, mixed pho is a dry dish without broth. Sliced meat is marinated with salt, ginger, pepper, garlic, lime juice, and five-spice powder, then stir-fried and mixed with fresh vegetables (basil, coriander, lettuce, bean sprouts), fried onions, and rice noodles, all in a sauce made with vinegar, fish sauce, and sugar. The dish is often garnished with peanuts and chili peppers and served with lime.

The other two Vietnamese dishes were salad (nộm), ranked 45th with 4 points, and beef with lime dressing (bò tái chanh), ranked 65th with 3.9 points.

"Nộm is the name used in the North, while in the South it's called 'gỏi'. Nộm is usually mixed with a dressing and served with shrimp crackers. Common ingredients include vegetables such as cabbage, radish, papaya, green mango, banana blossom, sliced cucumber, and even shredded meat or seafood," the food website wrote.

Beef carpaccio with lime is described as a combination of thinly sliced beef, rare-marinated with lime or kumquat juice, then mixed with fried garlic. This dish is usually presented on a layer of fresh herbs and onions, and garnished with red chili peppers, crushed peanuts, and fried shallots. Taste Atlas specifically suggests beef carpaccio with lime as an appetizer, accompanied by a dipping sauce and alcoholic beverages.

The top 10 dishes include Dakos - fresh tomatoes mixed with cheese served with bread (Greece), Greek salad - salad with vegetables and cheese (Greece), Houria - cooked mashed carrots (Tunisia), Caprese - tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil (Italy), Fattoush - traditional Middle Eastern salad (Lebanon), Kısır - fresh vegetables and bread (Turkey), Shopska salata - fresh vegetable salad (Bulgaria), Pecel - mixed vegetables with peanut sauce (Indonesia), Smacked cucumber - spicy pickled cucumber (China), and Piyaz - white bean salad served with kebab (Türkiye).

Taste Atlas is a Croatian food website established in 2015. It's considered a map of the world's top traditional dishes, local ingredients, and restaurants, with information on approximately 10,000 dishes and over 9,000 restaurants. The food rankings are based on votes from readers worldwide and a number of experts.
