On the morning of December 6, at the Provincial Conference Center, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held a press conference on the results of implementing the socio-economic development tasks in 2024; goals, tasks, and main solutions in 2025. Comrades: Mai Son - Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Tuan Phu - Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Minh Chieu - Director of the Department of Information and Communications co-chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of departments, branches, agencies, units, and localities; leaders and reporters and journalists of central and local news agencies and newspapers.
In 2024, the province's socio-economic development, national defense and security will remain stable, achieving many positive results compared to 2023. Bac Giang province has completed and exceeded the plan for 15/18 main targets, of which 8 targets met the plan, 7 targets exceeded the plan, and 3 targets were not completed.
The province's economic growth rate (GRDP) is estimated at 13.85%, leading the country. The province's GRDP scale reached 207 trillion VND, leading the Northern Midlands and Mountains region; GRDP per capita reached 4,370 USD, up 10.6%. The value of industrial and service production increased by 30% and 11.6% respectively, of which the value of construction production decreased by 7.2%, agriculture, forestry and fishery decreased by about 4.4%. The total import and export turnover is estimated at 60 billion USD, up 14.5% compared to 2023, of which the export value alone reached 33 billion USD, up 20.4%. The total state budget revenue for the whole year is estimated at more than 19.1 trillion VND, exceeding the assigned estimate by 22.2% .
The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2023 ranked 4th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. The total investment attraction of the province reached over 2.04 billion USD of converted investment capital. In terms of FDI attraction alone, Bac Giang ranked 9th nationwide. The whole province disbursed nearly 9.2 trillion VND of public investment capital, equal to 97.8% of the plan.
The policy of rearranging administrative units has been vigorously implemented by all levels, sectors and localities, especially the National Assembly Standing Committee has approved the Project on rearranging administrative units at district and commune levels in Bac Giang province in 2023-2025.
The quality of education has been improved, and key education has achieved outstanding results, the highest since the province was re-established. Cultural development work has been focused on. Many traditional cultural values and cultural heritages of the nation have been inherited, preserved and promoted. Sustainable poverty reduction work has been focused on and implemented effectively; the poverty rate has decreased to 1.8%. The program "Elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses" has been deployed and widely responded to, creating a spreading effect among all classes of people, achieving the goal of eliminating all temporary and dilapidated houses by 2024. National defense and security work has been implemented synchronously and comprehensively. Political security, order and social safety have been maintained and stabilized.
In 2025, Bac Giang province strives for a GRDP growth rate of 13.6%, of which industry - construction increases by 16.0%, services increase by 7.5%, agriculture, forestry and fishery increase by 3.8%, and product tax increases by 10% .
To achieve the goal, the province has set out 8 main tasks and solutions. In which, it continues to innovate thinking in directing the implementation of tasks; focuses on removing bottlenecks and bottlenecks that hinder development. Strengthens and develops growth drivers associated with effective economic restructuring.
Focus on completing a synchronous and modern infrastructure system. Effectively manage resources, minerals and protect the environment. Improve the quality of medical services and health care for the people. Continue to innovate and improve the quality of education and training. Promote human resource development, especially high-quality human resources; promote the application and strong development of science and technology, innovation, and the start-up movement. Promote administrative reform and enhance digital transformation.
At the conference, reporters and journalists reflected and discussed a number of issues of concern such as: The editing of images to defame honor and blackmail on cyberspace in the past; orientation in attracting, recruiting, and training high-quality human resources in the coming time; experience in attracting investment in the province, developing industry; solutions to attract and retain tourists when coming to Bac Giang province; the power infrastructure is still not synchronized in some localities; salary regime for ministries, civil servants, and public employees; file management...
Regarding the case of subjects cutting and pasting images to defame, insult and extort property on the Internet, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Than Van Duy said that the Provincial Police have established a special project to fight. Last November, the Bac Giang Provincial Police in coordination with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and the Quang Ngai Provincial Police arrested 19 subjects in Quang Ngai Province, using tricks such as using junk SIM cards, voice-changing technology, and cutting and pasting images to commit crimes. On December 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Giang City Police prosecuted 13 defendants in this case for the crime of Extortion of property to continue investigating and expanding the case. . He hoped that the press agencies, all levels and sectors would accompany the Provincial Police in the peak period of fighting and preventing all types of crimes during the Lunar New Year from December 15, 2024 to February 14, 2025. Propagating crime prevention methods to the general public, good people and good deeds in ensuring security and order, participating in the fight against all types of crime with the police force.
Regarding tourism development solutions in 2025, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Do Tuan Khoa said that the province will promote, disseminate and introduce the province's heritages, relics and scenic spots with 4 main tourism products including: Eco-spiritual tourism associated with traditional festivals; resort tourism combined with cultural heritage experiences ; fruit-growing tourism; sports tourism associated with service chains. At the same time, the province will focus on directing the organization of the Provincial Culture - Tourism Week well from the beginning of 2025. Continue to build unique tourism products, tours and new routes such as Hanoi - Tho Ha ancient village - Bo Da pagoda. Do a good job of linking and promoting tourism with localities with developed tourism. At the same time, improve the quality of human resources in the tourism and service industries; improve tourism infrastructure such as restaurants and hotels. Implement well the state management of tourism, thereby creating a good image in the eyes of tourists.

Concluding the conference, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son thanked reporters and journalists for their attention and support for the province's socio-economic development in recent times.
