The book "President Ho Chi Minh and General Nguyen Chi Thanh" (People's Army Publishing House)

Following in the footsteps of the late Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, the family of General Nguyen Chi Thanh and the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum researched, selected documents, compiled the manuscript, and collaborated with the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace Historical Site to edit it. This is considered the first book about President Ho Chi Minh and General Nguyen Chi Thanh to be published.

More specifically, the book was published on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the first time Comrade Nguyen Vinh met and had the honor of being named Nguyen Chi Thanh by President Ho Chi Minh in the capital of the Tan Trao Liberation Zone.

The book also highlights General Nguyen Vinh - Nguyen Chi Thanh's journey of forging his will to rise and mature in the flames of struggle; becoming a pioneering, passionate communist soldier, an exemplary revolutionary leader, and an outstanding son of the Party and the nation.

The 80 entries in the book recreate the special relationship between the brilliant leader of the Vietnamese revolution and an outstanding student and loyal associate, while also highlighting the contributions of General Nguyen Chi Thanh to the struggle for national independence, freedom, and the happiness of the people.

Holding the book in their hands, readers will be deeply moved by the incredibly meaningful and touching information about Comrade Nguyen Vinh's journey to Viet Bac, where he first met leader Nguyen Ai Quoc - Ho Chi Minh.

In late July 1945, Comrade Nguyen Vinh, along with other comrades representing the Southern Regional Party Committee and the Viet Minh from the central provinces, traveled north from Central Vietnam. After stopping at a secret liaison station to receive cadres returning from various localities, Comrade Nguyen Vinh and the delegation followed the Phu Tho route to Tan Trao, beginning their lives and work in the revolutionary atmosphere of the safe zone located in Son Duong, Tuyen Quang.

In the Tan Trao revolutionary base, Comrade Nguyen Vinh met many Viet Minh delegates from various localities, including well-known revolutionaries who had long been prominent figures in the nationwide revolutionary movement. Before the conference, Comrade Nguyen Vinh was allowed to accompany Hoang Quoc Viet and Truong Chinh to meet with leader Ho Chi Minh.

After meeting with President Ho Chi Minh, Comrade Hoang Quoc Viet introduced Comrade Nguyen Vinh and then took the opportunity to report on the conference. From that meeting onwards, President Ho Chi Minh saw in Comrade Nguyen Vinh a person who was "honest, courageous, and resolute," young but experienced, deeply involved in the movement, and had endured many trials in imperialist prisons...

At the book launch seminar, former Politburo member and Head of the Central Committee's Ideology and Culture Department, Nguyen Khoa Diem, shared interesting information about the relationship between President Ho Chi Minh and General Nguyen Chi Thanh, affirming the important roles of the brilliant leader and his outstanding student from Hue.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khoa Diem, when the army was first built, our country was an agricultural nation, with farmers as the mainstays of the peasantry. Therefore, the army was a peasant army in military uniform. Political leadership in the army was extremely important to the Party and the revolution. That's why President Ho Chi Minh appointed General Nguyen Chi Thanh as the Head of the General Political Department. Along with other renowned generals, General Nguyen Chi Thanh achieved historic victories.
