Bac Ninh: Students are excited after the Literature exam for admission to 10th grade.

BAC NINH - By 10:00 AM on May 26th, more than 50,400 candidates in Bac Ninh province had completed the Literature exam, the first subject in the entrance exam for 10th grade in non-specialized high schools for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Despite the scorching hot weather and the tense atmosphere at the exam venue, most candidates were pleased to have completed the Literature exam because the content of the questions was closely related to the cultural life of the Kinh Bac people.

The Literature exam for admission to 10th grade in non-specialized high schools in Bac Ninh province for the 2026-2027 school year is considered to be relevant to real life and closely adheres to core knowledge.

The materials are sourced outside of textbooks, focusing on current events, culture, and content related to important events in Bac Ninh province, such as receiving UNESCO recognition and the opening of the "Returning to the Heritage Region of Bac Ninh - 2026" Festival.

The exam covered a wide range of knowledge. It required candidates to both understand the material and apply their social knowledge to analyze and evaluate the work. The questions were all familiar types that students had practiced, so they were able to answer them completely.

The exam is highly differentiating in several aspects, requiring candidates to synthesize knowledge, express ideas in paragraphs, and analyze and highlight the meaning of the text in order to accurately assess students' abilities and facilitate admission to high schools.

In particular, the requirement to write an argumentative essay analyzing the thematic content and distinctive artistic features of the excerpt "New Days" by Thach Lam is a good question about the simple things in life, the love of labor, and genuine human relationships, helping laborers find joy, serenity, and the true values ​​of life.

We are also proficient with Literature exam questions that do not use familiar materials from textbooks and proactively grasp knowledge and skills in reading comprehension, identifying genres, understanding the theme and message of the text to analyze and highlight the content and meaning of literary or social commentary essays.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Diu, a Literature teacher at Bac Ninh Specialized High School, commented: "This year's exam closely follows the structure issued by the Department of Education and Training to junior high schools and students, ensuring clear guidance during the review process."

At the end of the Literature exam, 240 candidates were absent throughout the province; one candidate at the Yen Phong No. 2 High School examination center violated the exam regulations.

In terms of content, the exam addressed many issues that were both culturally significant and topical, while also vividly reflecting the characteristics of the Kinh Bac region and its people. In particular, the writing section, which utilized excerpts from Thach Lam's "New Days," was considered excellent, relatable yet retaining the subtlety and rich artistic value of literature, thus differentiating students based on this question.

Overall, the exam was relatively well-differentiated, with questions arranged from easy to difficult: Average students could score around 5 points, above-average students could score between 6.5 and 7 points, while achieving 8 points required truly outstanding abilities.

According to reports, the examination centers were secured and orderly, creating the most favorable conditions for candidates to focus on their exams. In addition, functional forces, youth union members, and volunteers provided enthusiastic support to candidates, from guiding them to their exam rooms and managing traffic to providing water and encouragement. This care and support helped the students feel confident and calm, enabling them to perform well on their exams.

Because my house is near the exam location, I'm providing a place to rest, snacks, and drinks for parents who live far away and have to stay while waiting for their children. I hope that these small acts will help parents ensure their health, safety, and peace of mind so they can support their children to achieve the best possible results in the exam."

According to the schedule, at 2:30 PM this afternoon (June 26th), candidates will begin taking the English exam, which will last 60 minutes.
