The Secretariat directs response to storm No. 5

The Secretariat requested Party committees at all levels, Party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to proactively respond and not be negligent or subjective about storm No. 5, minimizing damage.

On August 23, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu signed and issued Official Dispatch No. 70-CV/TW of the Secretariat on responding to storm No. 5.

Official dispatch to provincial, municipal party committees, party committees directly under the Central Committee; central party committees; party committees of ministries, branches, socio-political organizations at the Central level; party committees of central public service units; comrades of the Central Party Executive Committee.

The dispatch stated: This is a very strong storm, moving quickly, with a wide and dangerous range and intensity of influence on the sea and land. According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the storm will continue to strengthen; it is forecasted that by the morning of August 25, the storm will likely reach level 11-12, gusting to level 15, on the sea from Thanh Hoa province to Hue city and enter the mainland of the Central region.

To proactively respond to storms and heavy rains, the risk of flash floods, landslides, inundation, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property and state property, the Standing Secretariat requests Party committees at all levels, Party organizations, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to proactively strengthen direction, supervision, inspection and response according to the 4-on-the-spot motto, not to be negligent and subjective with storm No. 5, minimizing damage; daily update the situation, send reports to the Central Party Office (before 4:00 p.m. daily).

The Central Party Office shall preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to monitor and synthesize the situation, and daily report to the Politburo and Secretariat on relevant situations.
