Discuss solutions to promote international tourist market

QTO - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Oxalis Company recently held a working session with Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau, former Ambassador of Vietnam to India, Nepal and Bhutan, Special Envoy of Vietnam on UNESCO issues; leaders of the Management Board of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park; and representatives of some typical international travel businesses in the area.

The meeting focused on assessing the situation of international tourists in Phong Nha-Ke Bang area; analyzing the tastes and needs of the Indian tourist market; discussing methods of coordinating the promotion of Quang Tri tourism image through international media products, including the film SILAA; and proposing solutions to improve service quality, build a civilized tourism environment, and increase the number of international visitors from target markets.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Dong Ha highly appreciated the sharing and exchanges of the ambassador and businesses; affirmed that the department will absorb them to report, advise the Provincial People's Committee and competent authorities to deploy promotional solutions, making Quang Tri an attractive and worth-experiencing destination in Vietnam and the region.

He also informed about the orientation, mechanism, and policies to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector; implementing Official Dispatch No. 6741/VPCP-KGVX, dated July 21, 2025 of the Government Office on strengthening state management and improving economic efficiency in welcoming international visitors.

Before that, the delegation visited the SILAA film crew at the studio in Blue Diamond Retreat (Phong Nha commune), inquired about the filming situation at the filming locations in the area, presented flowers and Khe Sanh coffee specialties to the actors, director and crew; and also had a quick discussion about the filming location, cuisine, natural, community and rural tourism products of Quang Tri that are suitable for the tastes of Indian guests.
