Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong and delegates attending the event
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum Nguyen Anh Minh said: Over the past 80 years of fighting for independence and protecting and building the country, there have been countless children of the Fatherland who have silently contributed and sacrificed, and they themselves have written the heroic pages of the nation's history in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum respectfully introduces to the public the special exhibition "Children of the Fatherland".
Delegates cut the ribbon to open the exhibition.
The thematic exhibition "Children of the Fatherland" selected 80 works created between 1947 and 1986 in various materials such as oil paint, lacquer, silk, paper, wood, plaster... Through the lens of many generations of artists from Indochina Fine Arts, Resistance Fine Arts to innovation and modernity, with rich and vivid styles and visual languages, it introduces to the public the image of the children who have silently devoted their youth, strength and blood to protect and build the country through works of art. They are the children of the Fatherland - those who have contributed to writing the heroic history of the nation, and are role models for today's generation.
"The exhibition "Children of the Fatherland" is not only an artistic activity but also a tribute to the generations of fathers and brothers who wrote glorious history. This is also an opportunity for the public to look back, be proud and continue the flame of patriotism, arousing the will to rise up for a prosperous and happy Vietnam" - Mr. Nguyen Anh Minh emphasized.
With 80 outstanding works of art, through rich visual language, the works vividly depict portraits of the nation's outstanding children - from heroes recorded in history books such as Nguyen Van Troi, Nguyen Thi Dinh, Ton That Tung, to silent people such as female militiamen, liberation soldiers, workers, farmers...
