Emphasizing the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations in the coming time, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that the two sides promote deeper and more substantive defense and security cooperation and improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation.
In particular, top priority is given to railway cooperation, starting construction of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong route in 2025; continuing to promote balanced and sustainable trade development; cooperating in investment and construction of major projects that are symbolic of the relationship between the two countries; promoting science and technology cooperation to become a new bright spot.

China is willing to promote economic and trade cooperation, expand imports of Vietnamese goods, boost transport infrastructure connectivity, increase high-quality investment, expand cooperation in science and technology, artificial intelligence, digital economy, and strengthen electricity connectivity, contributing to achieving each country's growth goals.
Appreciating Vietnam's active contributions and important role within the Mekong-Lancang cooperation framework, Minister Wang Yi suggested that member countries, including Vietnam, strengthen coordination, aiming for the next 10 years of success, bringing regional cooperation to new heights, and expanding into new areas.
Regarding maritime issues, the two sides agreed to control disagreements well and maintain peace and stability in the East Sea. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that both sides respect each other's sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction in the waters of the East Sea established in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 UNCLOS; refrain from unilateral actions that complicate the situation; properly handle the issue of fishing vessels and fishermen; and persistently resolve disputes and disagreements by peaceful means.
Also on this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son met with Lao Foreign Minister Thongsavanh Phomvihane.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed that Vietnam attaches special importance to and gives high priority to promoting the traditional friendship with Laos; at the same time, he inquired about the recent natural disasters and floods in northern and central Laos, and wished Laos to soon overcome the impact.

The two ministers appreciated the strong development of bilateral relations and agreed to closely coordinate and prepare well for high-level activities and bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the visit to Vietnam by Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
The two sides affirmed to further promote bilateral cooperation mechanisms, making economic cooperation a real pillar of bilateral relations. The Lao Foreign Minister highly appreciated Vietnam's active sharing of development experience, contributing positively to supporting Laos in building an independent and self-reliant economy.
The two sides pledged to strengthen coordination and mutual support at international, regional and sub-regional forums; and work with member countries to maintain solidarity and consolidate ASEAN's central role to effectively respond to common challenges.
