'Teachers need to be rewarded for the trust, care and expectations from society'

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that teachers also need to be grateful to society for bringing nobility to their profession. He told teachers that they need to repay the trust, attention and expectations from society, parents and students.

At the program "Instead of gratitude" in 2025, which took place on the evening of November 16, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that the education profession is a profession that sows seeds and nurtures the future, silently but persistently, quietly but brilliantly.

Teachers are the ones who light the fire of knowledge, inspire creativity, build personality, create trust and aspiration in each student, and at the same time turn knowledge into light so that students can illuminate their own path to maturity and create their own future.

“Never before has the education and training sector had such a position, been given such a mission and received such attention as it does today.

Education and training is the top national policy that determines the future of the nation. Teachers are considered the driving force for educational development, the decisive factor in the quality of education. Many new policies have been issued by the Party and the State to develop the teaching staff. That is a great joy, an encouragement for those working in education", said the Minister of Education and Training.

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son shared at the program "Instead of gratitude" in 2025.

Mr. Son said that this year, for the first time, the teaching profession has been codified by the Law on Teachers. “Instead of the spirit of respecting teachers as a culture and social custom, from now on, the promotion of educators, the development of the teaching staff, the responsibilities and obligations of teachers, and the protection of teachers are codified in law. Ethics combined with the law create certainty, sustainability, and transparency for the profession of teachers,” the Minister said, adding that this is an honor and a condition for teachers to promote their social role.

“The Party, the State, society, parents, and all students honor and give us good feelings, respect, love, gratitude, and admiration. On our part, we also need to do our part to be worthy. We teachers also need to be grateful to society for bringing nobility to our profession. We need to repay the trust, care, and expectations. All teachers need to strive to always be a shining example for students to follow, especially in terms of personality, learning spirit, creativity, love, and fairness,” said Mr. Son.
