Vo Thi Sau Primary School, Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang City - has just sent an open letter to parents, partners and sister units, asking permission not to accept flowers and gifts on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20 this year.
Principal Nguyen Thai Phong said this is the first time the school has decided not to accept gifts during the holidays for teachers.
According to the open letter, the school earnestly hopes that parents will turn their gratitude into practical gifts, sent to teachers and students in the Central localities that have just suffered heavy damage due to storms and floods, through official channels.

The letter stated that this year's Vietnamese Teachers' Day takes place in the context of people in the Central region struggling to overcome the consequences of natural disasters; many schools have not been able to return to normal operations, many students still lack books and notebooks, and teachers are having difficulty stabilizing their lives.
"As educators , we cannot help but worry when our colleagues are struggling to return to normal life, when students in many places are still facing difficulties on their journey to school," the letter said.
From that reality, the teachers and staff of Vo Thi Sau Primary School unanimously agreed not to accept flowers or gifts on the occasion of November 20.
The school believes that the gifts parents give to teachers and students in flood-affected areas are the most beautiful "flowers of gratitude", contributing to the development of a fragrant "educational garden". "That is also the most meaningful gift that teachers of Vo Thi Sau Primary School received on Vietnam Teachers' Day this year" - the letter affirmed.

The letter was posted on the Fanpage of Vo Thi Sau Primary School.
