Construction of the building will start in 2024, with a total floor area of over 13,589 m², with 26 large lecture halls and meeting rooms; 11 seminar and conference rooms; 26 working rooms; 5 multi-purpose spaces, a bookstore, a canteen and other ancillary areas.
In the building, there are ITS (intelligent traffic system) and BIM - AI (information modeling and artificial intelligence in construction) labs in cooperation between the school and technology enterprises (Tri Nam Group, Bien Bac Joint Stock Company).
Recently, many public universities in Hanoi have invested in building large, modern projects, but mainly thanks to state investment capital. Self-investment in building large-scale projects like the University of Transport Technology is rare.

The University of Transport Technology was formerly the College of Public Works, established on November 15, 1945, on the basis of the Indochina College of Public Works. Since 2010, the school has been upgraded to a university and has been assigned by the Ministry of Education and Training to be the focal point for the network of excellent training centers for talents in the field of transport technology and advanced smart infrastructure.

The University of Transport Technology is under the Ministry of Construction but has been given autonomy in regular spending since 2020. In the period 2020 - 2025, the school will not receive medium-term investment from the state.
