Love of profession brings light to life

As one of the outstanding teachers invited by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to share on the occasion of Vietnam Teachers' Day, November 20, teacher Cao Thi Thu Hien, a teacher at Phuong Mai Kindergarten (Hanoi) said that there was a time when she was depressed, thinking that her life would end, her dream would be unfulfilled because the doctor informed her that she had a serious illness. But the biggest source of encouragement that helped her overcome this difficulty was the image of the preschool students who still needed her care and protection every day.

Teacher Cao Thi Thu Hien was honored as the outstanding teacher of Hanoi Capital in 2025.

"Every day, my love for my job grows brighter. I struggle with the pain, prepare lessons, and am not afraid to innovate teaching methods. I only have one simple wish: that every day my children go to school is a happy day," Ms. Thu Hien shared.

And it is the children's smiles, innocent eyes, and trust that give her the strength to stick with her job.

Her love for her profession and children is recognized through her lectures that have won many high prizes in the Excellent Teacher Competition for many years.

Although her health is worse than that of her other colleagues, the annual initiatives and experiences she applies to her classes are always effective and are then shared and spread to her colleagues, not only in the school, but also to colleagues in the same area.

One of her colleagues shared: "Every school year, Ms. Hien is the teacher who conducts creative lessons for us to practice. I still remember clearly the musical activity "Magic Cup" that I attended, because even though it was just from cups, the children who did that activity with Ms. Hien all showed their excitement and enthusiasm."

Applying technology in teaching in 2023-2024, Ms. Hien's project: "Dinosaur" comes from her passion for music, responding to the need for innovation in teaching and learning, Ms. Hien has researched and introduced into her educational activities a number of teaching support software such as: scartch, Google 3D, Quizzi, AR-VR to attract children's passion and experience.

Through the online game Quizzi and programming software Scartch, children learn about the cause of the destruction of dinosaurs and do the experiment "Volcanic eruption". Children can transform into archaeologists, dig bones, search for fossil bones of dinosaurs and take souvenir photos with virtual dinosaurs through Google 3D software.

Not only is she creative in applying advanced educational science, she also regularly plans and implements projects to help children immerse themselves in nature, breathe fresh air and access endless sources of safe learning materials from nature.

Every time she sees the innocent eyes and smiles of children, Ms. Hien always worries and wants to do many things for children to have a love in happiness. The effectiveness of creative and innovative application of technology in teaching has helped children develop their positive interest in learning while playing, helping to develop their cognition; satisfying children's need to access modern technology, but still ensuring safety when letting children use technology devices. Teachers can easily access and share the application of safe technology for themselves and their colleagues.

Hanoi currently has 138,904 teachers, who are dedicating their intelligence and enthusiasm every day and every hour to the cause of "growing people" to contribute their efforts to the process of training digital citizens and global citizens of the country.

Typical examples of teachers in the capital such as teacher Cao Thi Thu Hien are not only an affirmation of the beautiful image of a teacher but also a source of encouragement and motivation for colleagues and generations of students to follow, always dedicated and creative in the noble career of "growing people".

With her efforts, what teacher Cao Thi Thu Hien wants to tell her fellow teachers is that even though there are still difficulties and challenges somewhere, teachers should live fully with love for the profession, love for students and strive for that, then they will find the light of life like her.
