This is not only an occasion to honor the heroic historical milestones of the nation but also an opportunity to promote the image of " Hanoi - Cultured, civilized, modern" to domestic and international friends.
Towards this important event, the capital's tourism industry has implemented a series of promotional activities, promotion, stimulus and innovation of tourism products, ready to welcome a large number of visitors.
Unique and attractive
With the forecast of a sudden increase in the number of tourists coming to the capital, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that this is both an opportunity and a challenge for the city's tourism industry. To best prepare to welcome and serve tourists, the industry has built and launched many new tourism product groups, attracting domestic and international tourists.
Visitors will have many options with programs ranging from the central area to the suburbs. Highlights include the exhibitions and displays of the theme "Sharp pen, red heart" at Hoa Lo Prison relic site; the exhibition fair of souvenirs and gifts at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel heritage site; a series of exhibitions and displays at the Ho Chi Minh Museum; the exhibition "Education for the masses - Lighting up the future" at the National Museum of History; the exhibition of Artificial Intelligence in applied arts at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum...
Many museums and the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater are open for free; some tourist areas and attractions also organize free experiences such as: Making Mosaic paintings, recycled ceramic paintings at Bat Trang; guided tours to explore the culture of 54 ethnic groups at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism; tickets to visit and watch water puppetry at Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
In addition, destinations in the city will simultaneously organize many unique cultural and artistic programs such as: VConcert - Radiant Vietnam; the art and political programs "Under the glorious flag", "I am a Vietnamese person"; the special art programs "Hanoi - From the historic autumn of 1945" and "Hanoi - Forever shining Vietnamese aspiration". In particular, the ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 will take place solemnly at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 2025.
On the night of September 2, Hanoi will organize fireworks displays at 5 locations: Hoan Kiem Lake, West Lake, Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong), Thong Nhat Park and My Dinh National Stadium, expected to attract a large number of tourists and residents.
In order to create its own mark, Hanoi Tourism introduces a set of 80 typical products, divided into 8 thematic groups: Heritage - Culture - History; Ecology - Resort - Nature; Cuisine - Shopping - Urban experience; Art - Night - Creativity; Services at the hotel system; Transportation - Metro - Waterway - Aviation; Agriculture - Craft villages - New countryside; Regional connection - Provincial, city connection - International.
The new highlight is the 2-storey inner-city tourist train “Nam Cua O” – The Hanoi Train, scheduled to open on August 19, a subtle combination of nostalgic space and contemporary art.
Areas and tourist attractions in the area also develop many rich products: Experiential tourism associated with heritage - relics at Ha Mo tourist site (O Dien commune); special tours combining heritage - relics and craft villages along the "Nam Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Road" route; rural tourism model; program "Discovering Ba Vi's identity"... Hanoi aims to develop a brand of health care resort tourism, in parallel with preserving cultural values and encouraging the community to participate in tourism, towards sustainable development.

Hanoi currently has more than 3,761 accommodation establishments with more than 71,256 rooms, including 85 hotels and apartment complexes rated from 1 to 5 stars. The accommodation system is capable of accommodating a large number of guests during the holiday, while also preparing conditions to serve tourists, focusing on improving the quality of products and services. During the holiday, many hotels and resorts launch preferential packages, combining culinary services, spas, sightseeing, and watching fireworks from high floors.
Restaurants and eateries in the downtown area have prepared special menus, introducing traditional dishes combined with contemporary style. Some night food areas such as Tong Duy Tan street, Dong Xuan market, Trinh Cong Son walking street are also ready to bring visitors interesting and unique culinary experiences.
In order to better serve the people and tourists during the anniversary and contribute to building the image of a civilized and elegant capital, the city mobilized agencies, businesses, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, public places, etc. to open free toilets during the event.
The Department of Tourism requested the People's Committees of communes and wards, along with units, individuals and tourism service businesses, to strengthen security, safety, service quality and environmental sanitation. At the same time, the units will coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command to serve people and tourists visiting the mausoleum, and plan to give 35,000 gifts to visitors on September 3.
