Donated nearly 90 million VND to support a girl with congenital heart disease

On August 14, representatives of the provincial Red Cross Society and the Thuy Anh commune government presented VND87.75 million donated by benefactors to the family of Dinh Thuy Dung (born in 2013, Thuy Anh commune). This support was mobilized through the connection between the provincial Red Cross Society and the Ton Tri Kien Facebook group, to help her continue her treatment.

Representatives of the provincial Red Cross Society and the Thuy Anh commune government presented the money donated by benefactors to the family of Dinh Thuy Dung.

Dung unfortunately has congenital heart disease. Since birth, she has undergone 8 surgeries but has not been able to cure the disease. She currently has pulmonary atrophy and must use an artificial lung to sustain her life. Her family is in difficult circumstances. Her father works far from home as a construction worker, and her mother both takes care of her children and works in the fields. Her brother had heart disease and had successful surgery in 2023; her sister has a secreting tumor. Although both are married, the economic burden still falls heavily on her parents.

The community's concern and sharing has given Dung's family faith and hope to overcome difficulties, continue the treatment journey, and nurture the dream of a healthy heart, to play and study like other friends of the same age.
