Documentary exhibition "Autumn of Independence and Aspiration for Prosperity"

On the morning of August 15, the opening ceremony of the Documentary Exhibition with the theme “Autumn of Independence and Aspiration for Prosperity” took place in Hanoi. This is an activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day September 2.

The documentary exhibition with the theme “Autumn of Independence and Aspiration for Prosperity” was organized by the National Library (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). The event contributed to affirming the great significance and important role of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 in the historical process of the nation.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Trinh Thi Thuy, member of the Standing Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Phan Viet Luong, Deputy Head of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Social Affairs; representatives of leaders of a number of departments and branches...

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Director of the National Library Nguyen Xuan Dung said that the organization of the exhibition "Independent Autumn and Aspiration for Prosperity" has great significance. The autumn of 1945 has entered the history of the nation as an immortal epic. After 80 years, the spirit of the historic autumn remains intact, becoming a fire that urges every Vietnamese person to live, contribute and build the country. The exhibition is not only an opportunity for readers and the public to learn and review the glorious history of the nation, but also arouses pride, the will to be self-reliant and the aspiration to build a prosperous and happy Vietnam.

The exhibition aims to propagate and educate the tradition of patriotism, self-reliance, and the desire for peace; promote the spirit of great solidarity in preserving and promoting revolutionary achievements; join hands and unite to build, protect and develop the country; express deep gratitude to generations of Vietnamese people who have fought heroically for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people; encourage the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of Delegates, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. In addition, it introduces to the people nationwide and international friends the achievements of the cause of building, protecting and developing the country over the past 80 years and the aspiration for prosperity under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.

The exhibition displays 800 documents and 80 photos selected from the rich archives of the National Library of Vietnam and a number of rare collections.

The exhibition displays four main themes:

1. August Revolution 1945 - The first great victory of the Vietnamese people in the 20th century: Introducing written documents about the historical context, developments, and causes of success of the August Revolution 1945 - The great turning point opening the era of independence and freedom for the nation...

2. National Day September 2, 1945 - A heroic milestone of the Vietnamese people in the Ho Chi Minh era: Displaying documents depicting the heroic atmosphere at Ba Dinh Square on September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam...

3. Historical value and contemporary significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2: Introduce documents summarizing and evaluating the historical value and contemporary significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; affirm the great role of the August Revolution and National Day in the cause of national construction and defense and the path of national development.

4. Vietnam - 80 years of steady progress: Displaying written documents about the country's outstanding achievements in the fields of politics, economics, culture, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs over the past 8 decades, affirming Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.

The exhibition takes place from August 15 to September 15, 2025, at the National Library of Vietnam (No. 31 Trang Thi, Hanoi).
