The spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the visit took place in the context of the positive development of the Vietnam-Bhutan friendship since the establishment of diplomatic relations on January 19, 2012.
In terms of politics and diplomacy, Vietnam and Bhutan maintain delegation exchanges. In the economic and trade fields, the two countries have recently made efforts to increase two-way trade turnover. Vietnam has exported many items to Bhutan such as wood, machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, and other goods.
The two countries coordinate well, support each other and continue to strengthen cooperation at regional and international forums, especially at the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPA), the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA)... as well as on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
Cooperation between the two countries in many other fields is assessed to have much potential and room for further expansion, especially in agriculture, tourism, culture, education, science, technology, digital transformation, green development...
According to Ms. Hang, during the visit, the King of Bhutan will hold talks with President Luong Cuong, have meetings with General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and other important activities.
