For example, Ms. Ho Kim Lien - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Khai Hoan Trading Joint Stock Company, Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone. Although she is a doctor by profession, Ms. Lien has been destined to bring Khai Hoan fish sauce to the world for decades. Ms. Lien said that when she first started her career, she failed many times in fermenting fish, trying to make the finished fish sauce both delicious and beautiful in color. To gain experience, she went to the fishing port for months just to choose raw fish...

Overcoming many difficulties, with only the first 12 small fish sauce barrels, Khai Hoan has now developed to more than 700 large fish sauce barrels, each barrel holding 12 - 15 tons of fish. The company also has large ships that can carry salt offshore to buy fish that have just been pulled up and immediately fermented. In addition to ensuring the maximum quality of each bottle of fish sauce, the company constantly improves the design and packaging of the product to meet the increasing demand of the market...

With relentless efforts, Khai Hoan has developed from a small barrel house into a leading producer of traditional Phu Quoc fish sauce. With a closed process of exploitation, preservation, transportation, and fermentation, Khai Hoan brings clean raw materials from the ocean to the dining table, preserving the freshness and unique flavor of traditional fish sauce. Khai Hoan fish sauce brand meets the national 5-star OCOP standard and is protected by 28 European countries for geographical indications.

Not only developing her own business, Ms. Lien is also the President of Phu Quoc Fish Sauce Association and the President of Vietnam Traditional Fish Sauce Association. She has made many contributions to the development of traditional fish sauce businesses, especially promoting and protecting the image of traditional Vietnamese fish sauce in the international market, helping to bring this product to the world and creating export opportunities. At the same time, she participates in social activities, helping to improve the lives of people in traditional fish sauce production areas; bringing these fish sauce products to consumers.

As for Ms. Le Thi Bich Nga - Executive Director of Thuan Loi Phat Tai Limited Liability Company, Thanh Loc Commune, to have the Le Nga brand of sea fish floss products as it is today, she has overcome many difficulties and challenges. “When I was in Taiwan, I tried their sea fish floss which was very delicious so I decided to learn how to make this dish to return to Vietnam to start a business. I applied to work at a floss factory to learn how to make it. Thanks to my determination and sincerity, I convinced my teacher in Taiwan to accept the transfer of the floss recipe. However, when I returned to Vietnam, the production and processing equipment and machinery like in Taiwan were not available, so I had to go back and forth to Taiwan many times to import modern machinery systems,” Ms. Nga said.

According to Ms. Nga, even though she has the recipe and method, when processing floss in Vietnam, with different raw materials and climate conditions, it takes her a lot of time, dozens of batches of fish, and hundreds of millions of dong to complete the current sea fish floss product.

Currently, Le Nga brand of sea fish floss is available in distribution systems in and outside the province. “Not only is it a delicious dish to serve my family and relatives, but I also want to fulfill a bigger dream of exporting products to international markets. I want to let my friends around the world know that Vietnamese products are of high quality and guaranteed to be safe,” said Ms. Nga.
