According to experts, the sharp decline in coffee prices in recent times is due to improved global supply. Brazil - the world's largest coffee producer - is in the harvest season with output expected to increase slightly by 0.5%, reaching about 65 million bags. In Vietnam, Robusta coffee output in the 2025-2026 crop year is estimated to increase by 7%, reaching a 4-year high of about 31 million bags thanks to favorable weather.

The decline was also driven by profit-taking on the London and New York exchanges as speculators rushed to sell after a period of high prices. Favorable weather forecasts in Brazil and a strong US dollar weighed on domestic coffee prices. Geopolitical tensions also drove money out of the commodity market, contributing to the decline in global coffee prices.

However, experts predict that without additional large export orders or price increases from the international market, domestic pepper prices will remain stagnant in the short term.
