An Ngai rice paper and An Nhut rice vermicelli are national cultural heritages.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just announced a decision to include the An Nhut rice vermicelli making craft and the An Ngai rice paper making craft in the list of national intangible cultural heritages.

The An Ngai rice paper making craft, belonging to An Ngai commune (now Long Dien commune, Ho Chi Minh City) has been a traditional craft for nearly 100 years, passed down from father to son. In 2013, the An Ngai rice paper making craft was recognized as a traditional craft by the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and this is also the first traditional craft village in the province. The recognition as a heritage has created conditions for people to access technology, machinery, improve product quality and expand the market. Currently, the An Ngai rice paper craft village has more than 130 participating households, with many diverse types of rice paper. Meanwhile, the An Nhut rice paper making craft in An Nhut commune (now Long Dien commune, Ho Chi Minh City) appeared around the end of the 17th century - the beginning of the 18th century, produced in the form of father to son. From there, a traditional craft was formed with its own culinary secrets, creating a brand for over 60 years.

Currently, travel agencies are developing tours and tourist routes to promote products of the two traditional craft villages to visitors for sightseeing and experience, helping households earn more income and promoting local socio -economic development.
