During the summer days, regardless of day or night, the two playgrounds located in Go! Supermarket (Nam Dinh city) always attract a lot of children. Ms. Tran Thi Huong, on Cu Chinh Lan street, shared: "Because of our busy work, we have little time to play with our children, so every weekend my husband and I take our children to the supermarket to play and shop. There is a playground here, so my children really like it and can play all day." While electronic games that sell tickets in the form of exchanging "coins" are chosen by many children, the playground next door with a combo of many physical games is "picky" with customers because the ticket prices are quite high. Because the entertainment areas located right in supermarkets and shopping centers have air conditioning and reasonable prices, they have met the entertainment needs of children on weekends and holidays. However, these are spontaneous playgrounds, run by private businesses, so the safety factor makes many parents feel uneasy. With a small area and many integrated games, it is quite cramped, easily causing collisions during play. In addition, the stuffy atmosphere, loud noises from games, fans, advertising music, etc. are not suitable for a play environment for children, especially for long-term exposure. Most of the staff only sell entrance tickets, the rest of the supervision of children playing depends on parents. Meanwhile, many parents do not go in with their children but sit outside, engrossed in using their phones, "letting" their children play freely without paying attention to situations where children fight, collide or fall.

Children's playgrounds in the Vi Xuyen Lake Park and Hoa Binh Square (Nam Dinh City) have long been a destination for many children. To attract, in addition to cheerful music and eye-catching colored lights, the playgrounds are also equipped with a variety of games suitable for many ages: trains, hang gliders, merry-go-rounds, bouncy houses, sand shoveling areas, electric cars, cyclos, painting statues, etc. Through observation, in the playgrounds, most of the tools, machines, and toys use electricity or batteries; many toys are rusty and old. On rainy days, the equipment and toys are still placed outdoors and only covered with tarps. Many games are left exposed to the sun and rain, with a high risk of electrical leakage. In particular, the game of gravity sand and gravel often attracts the interest of many children... but has many potential risks, when those toys can easily become harmful foreign objects when hyperactive children pick them up and throw them. In addition, the ball houses and bouncy houses also have many potential risks of unsafe hygiene because the balls and bouncy floors are rarely cleaned and sanitized; some parents and children arbitrarily bring food and drinks into the play area, causing them to scatter, become unsanitary, and foster pathogens. In the area of Vy Xuyen Lake Park, the area of Hoa Binh Square, there is also a service of renting mini motorbikes, electric cars, 3-wheeled electric drift cars... These are compact, convenient vehicles with eye-catching colors, easy to control but quite fast. These types of vehicles are only suitable for young people, but at these entertainment venues there are no regulations or age limits, so even preschool children can participate in the game, potentially creating many dangerous situations. Along with that, the number of children participating in this game is very large; many children speed, the vehicles rush, so there have been many collisions causing injuries. It is worth mentioning that many parents do not hesitate to spend money to rent vehicles for their children to play without anticipating the dangers that always lurk because the speed of these toys is often quite fast, easy to collide, crash and fall. Ms. Thu Nga, on Hang Thao Street said: "My children are on summer vacation or stay at home watching TV or using the phone, so I want to take them outside to play. In the square, I saw an electric car game that my child liked, so I also took my child here to play, but I saw the children driving the electric cars very fast. There were children crashing into each other, causing scratches on their legs and arms, which was very worrying."

It is undeniable that amusement parks bring children the benefits of experience, health training, skill development, and connection with friends. However, along with those benefits are constant concerns about safety. Most amusement parks only arrange staff to check tickets but do not supervise and guide children to play in order to promptly detect and prevent unsafe behaviors of children when using toys, especially to perform rescue when unexpected situations occur. Although some amusement parks have signs of rules and regulations for each game, signs noting age limits in each area, most children do not follow the instructions, some parents take advantage of their children's playing time to chat, surf the phone, go shopping...

To make playgrounds truly safe, healthy, and secure for children, attention from many sides is needed. First of all, authorities need to regularly inspect and monitor the safety of children's playgrounds, especially outdoor playgrounds with high-speed, thrilling games. There should be specific regulations on the age of participation in these games and playground businesses should be required to strictly comply with equipment, hygiene, and electrical safety standards. In addition, the responsibility of parents is also extremely important. Parents need to choose games for their children to play that are safe and age-appropriate, and not "let them loose", especially in public areas and crowded places. While children are playing, parents should monitor and observe them to promptly care, remind, and warn them when they play dangerous games, limiting unfortunate accidents from happening.
