Hurricane Lee approached the eastern coast of North America on the morning of September 15th.
THE NATIONAL OCEANOGRAPHIC ADMINISTRATION (NOAA)
The biggest impact of Hurricane Lee on the U.S. is the risk of coastal flooding and tropical storm winds in some parts of New England, where a state of emergency has been declared. A hurricane warning is also in effect for the southern coast of Canada.
People in Canada and the US along the coast are currently being urged to stay indoors. Although the storm is predicted to weaken and potentially change course, the Canadian Hurricane Center is still urging people to prepare for the risk of widespread flooding and power outages.
Before making landfall, Lee caused a major storm in the Atlantic for more than a week, but it did not cause significant damage, according to The New York Times .
