Nhan Dan Newspaper celebrates 100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Journalism and awards the 2024 People's Journalism Award

On the afternoon of June 16, at the Headquarters at 71 Hang Trong (Hanoi), the leadership, Party Committee, and the Journalists Association of Nhan Dan Newspaper solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Journalism (1925-2025) and the 2024 Nhan Dan Press Awards Ceremony.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; leaders of Nhan Dan Newspaper and a large number of cadres, reporters, editors and staff in the agency.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh affirmed that in the past time, the collective of Party journalists has achieved many remarkable achievements. Faced with the extremely heavy tasks ahead, he noted that all units, reporters and editors need to continue to make efforts to excellently complete the assigned tasks; at the same time, promote the process of innovation on the basis of promoting the spirit of solidarity and unanimity; thereby raising the level of Nhan Dan Newspaper.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Journalists Association decided to award the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism" Medal to 7 members of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Journalists Association.

The Nhan Dan Newspaper Journalists Association also awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 collective branches and 20 members with many achievements in professional activities and the Association's work in 2024.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh awarded the "For the Cause of Vietnamese Journalism" Medal to members of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Journalists Association.

Comrade Vu Mai Hoang awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 branches with many achievements in professional activities and Inter-branch work in 2024.

Immediately after the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, the 2024 People's Press Awards Ceremony took place. The 2024 People's Press Awards gathered many works and groups of press works in the following genres: print, electronic, television and press photos.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's award attracted the participation of 18 out of 21 affiliated branches, with 147 works and groups of works in all 4 types of journalism: print, electronic, television and photojournalism. Although the number of entries decreased compared to last year, the quality of the works was highly appreciated, rich in topics, diverse in genres, vividly reflecting the political , economic, social and cultural life of the country, especially the major issues, key in the direction and administration of the Party and State.

The highlight of this year's season is the bold innovation in the way of expression, especially in the genres of multimedia journalism and creative journalism. Products such as the interactive page on General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the panorama supplement on the Dien Bien Phu Campaign or the interactive exhibition on the Hanoi Flag Tower have shown the ability to apply technology in modern journalism of the units of Nhan Dan Newspaper, while affirming the spirit of deep integration with the world journalism trend.

The Award Council worked seriously, objectively and impartially to select the 50 best works, including 10 A prizes, 15 B prizes, 11 C prizes and 14 Encouragement prizes.

Also in 2024, the collective of reporters and editors of Nhan Dan Newspaper had 52 works awarded prizes at competitions organized by central and local departments, ministries and branches.

Specifically, from June 2024 to June 2025, 52 works were awarded prizes in competitions organized by central and local ministries and branches. Of these, 11 works won first and second prizes; 16 works won second and third prizes; and 13 works won third and third prizes.

Regarding the awards of central and local departments, ministries and branches, there were 9 certificates of merit for collectives and 19 certificates of merit for individuals.
