The French newspaper Nhân Đạo published a special supplement praising Vietnam's April 30, 1975 victory.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the April 30, 1975 Victory, L'Humanité newspaper - the mouthpiece of the French Communist Party - published a special supplement with the theme "1975-2025: Vietnam, a free nation", to honor the great victory as well as the great achievements of Vietnam on the path of reconstruction, innovation and international integration.

The supplement consists of 16 pages with many in-depth articles and vivid images, recreating the 50-year journey of strong development of Vietnam since the day the South was completely liberated and the country was reunified. In the featured article titled “Vietnam moves forward but always remembers the losses and sacrifices”, journalist Axel Nodinot emphasized: The 50th anniversary of the April 30 Victory is an opportunity for the Vietnamese people to recall the glorious past but also many losses and sorrows, while confidently looking forward to a bright future.

Everywhere was filled with jubilant atmosphere with red flags with yellow stars to celebrate this important event. Vietnamese press published many publications honoring the great event of the nation as well as the journey of rebuilding and developing the country with many outstanding achievements. This is a great event for generations of Vietnamese people and an opportunity for the younger generation to understand the sacrifices of previous generations, remember the valuable support of international friends, and strive for a bright future of the nation.

Journalist Axel Nodinot commented that, despite having experienced a fierce war and a prolonged embargo, Vietnam today has developed remarkably, becoming a dynamically developed country with a flexible foreign policy - the metaphor of the "Vietnamese bamboo tree". Vietnam is confidently entering a new stage of development as General Secretary To Lam pointed out: By 2030, Vietnam will become a developing country with modern industry and high average income; by 2045, it will become a developed socialist country with high income.

Although still facing the consequences of Agent Orange and development challenges, the optimism, solidarity and determination to deeply integrate of the Vietnamese people were especially recognized by French journalists through practical experiences during the historic days of May.

Another insight comes from the article “The victory of April 30, 1975 is the victory of Vietnamese intelligence” by journalist Lina Sankari. The article affirms that the factors that created the victory were the bravery, intelligence and great solidarity of the people, along with the strong support of international friends, especially the peace-loving French people. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, the military-political-diplomatic front was effectively applied through the Geneva Agreements (1954) and Paris Agreements (1973), paving the way for complete victory in 1975.

Lina Sankari also emphasized the turning point role of the Mau Than General Offensive in 1968 - an event that forced the whole world , including the US, to acknowledge Vietnam's inevitable victory and accept negotiations. The victory on April 30, 1975 was not only the end of the resistance war but also a symbol of national intelligence and will - "winning over technology, winning over money" with spiritual strength and patriotism.

Many prestigious journalists who have been associated with Vietnam also wrote articles in the supplement. Historian Alain Ruscio, who was a correspondent in Vietnam from 1978 to 1980, praised the people's persistent fighting spirit. The 21-year struggle against American imperialism to unify the country in the mid-20th century by the Vietnamese people was one of the greatest, fiercest, and most sacrificial historical challenges. He affirmed that the April 30 victory is proof that the Vietnamese people's will for independence, freedom, and national unification has a strong source in history.

Former correspondent Daniel Roussel, who was stationed in Vietnam from 1980 to 1986, recounted the pro-Vietnam movement in France during the anti-American resistance war, emphasizing the great role of the French people and communist organizations in supporting the Vietnamese negotiating team and opposing the unjust war.

Journalist Alain Wasmes, who was in Saigon on April 30, 1975, witnessed the historic moment firsthand. Contrary to the dire predictions of some Western media at the time, there was no “bloodbath”. Order was maintained and the desire for peace was evident on every face of the people.

Head of the International Department of the Humanitarian Newspaper, Mr. Vadim Kamenka affirmed: "We are always attached to Vietnam, fighting strongly with the hope that our Vietnamese friends will soon regain independence, peace and national unity. Therefore, the 50th anniversary of the April 30 Victory is an opportunity for us to honor the achievements of the Vietnamese people in the resistance war as well as in the country's development."

Nhan Dao Newspaper was the leading newspaper on the information front supporting the struggle for independence, peace and national unification of the Vietnamese people in both the resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism. During the war against French colonialism, Nhan Dao Newspaper sent secret special correspondents into the war zone to report truthfully on the resistance war of the Vietnamese people.

President Ho Chi Minh once wrote an article denouncing the crimes of the French colonial regime in the newspaper Nhan Dao in 1922. The mouthpiece of the French Communist Party also published a call to protest the execution of Vietnamese patriots, with the participation of many French intellectuals and artists such as Romain Rolland, Henri Barbusse, Aragon...
