On the afternoon of July 22, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a Decision to amend the training program standards on semiconductor microcircuits at undergraduate and master's levels.
Accordingly, the Ministry removed the regulation that candidates registering for semiconductor microchip programs must achieve a minimum score of 8 points in math, and achieve a total score of 24/30 or higher in the three graduation exam subjects according to the combination.
One of the most important reasons for this revision is that the math score range this year is very low, with only 12% of candidates scoring 7 points or higher and 56% of candidates below average.
Replacing the above regulation is a new condition: candidates must "be in the group of 25% of candidates with the highest scores in the admission subject group nationwide and in the group of 20% of candidates with the highest math scores nationwide (according to data published annually by the Ministry of Education and Training)".

Math score index for high school graduation exam in 2024 and 2025.
In 2025, the whole country will have 1,126,172 candidates taking the math graduation exam, 20% of which is 225,234 candidates. Based on the exam score data, the score of the top 20% in math is 6.25 points.
With the A00 admission group, the score of the top 25% is 22.7 points, equivalent to 40,513 candidates.
The top 25% score of block A01 is 21.5 points, equivalent to 37,717 candidates. The top 25% score of block D07 is 20 points, equivalent to 6,457 candidates.
Thus, candidates who score 6.25 points or higher in math, and also score 22.7 points in block A00, or 21.5 points in block A01, or 20 points in block D07 will be eligible to register for semiconductor microcircuit programs (if the training industry recruits these block combinations).
