Attending the ceremony were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; representatives of the leaders of the Army Academy, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police; departments, branches, sectors, provincial-level unions, the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Agencies, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the leaders of Xuan Huong - Da Lat, Cam Ly - Da Lat, Lam Vien - Da Lat wards, universities, colleges, enterprises; and 2,000 union members, youth and local people.

Speaking at the Candle Lighting Ceremony, comrade Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province affirmed: The nation's outstanding children have fallen for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, so that today the country can firmly rise from the blood, bones and tears of many generations.

He emphasized that the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" has always been preserved and spread by the Party Committee, government and people of Lam Dong through practical and specific actions such as: Supporting 29 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, taking good care of more than 19,000 meritorious people, giving nearly 16,000 gifts worth more than 10.6 billion VND on July 27.

However, there are still many concerns as many martyrs' graves have not been identified, and many relatives are still waiting for the day of reunion.
Comrade Pham Thi Phuc called on all levels, sectors, mass organizations and people to actively participate in "Repaying gratitude" activities, accompanying martyrs' relatives and taking care of people with meritorious services.


In particular, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee suggested that the Youth Union should take the lead in educating revolutionary traditions, taking care of Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, and implementing youth work associated with the model of "Pure heart, bright mind, great ambition".
That is how today's young generation continues the heroic spirit, contributing to building Lam Dong to be rich, civilized and humane.

On behalf of the youth of the whole province, comrade Truong Minh Quang, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Youth Union expressed deep gratitude and respectfully remembered the heroic martyrs who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation.


Although the war is long gone, those great losses and sacrifices will forever be engraved in the hearts of today's and tomorrow's young generations.

Promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", the youth of the whole province have been carrying out many meaningful projects and tasks such as: Supporting Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, taking care of families with meritorious services, renovating martyrs' cemeteries, organizing exchange programs, restoring martyrs' portraits...

In addition, Lam Dong youth also actively participate in revolutionary action movements, volunteering for the community, studying, scientific research and starting a business, thereby affirming their pioneering role on the front of building and defending the Fatherland.

Lam Dong Youth pledges to follow the tradition of their ancestors, compete to practice "virtue, intelligence, physique, and beauty", build the image of the new era youth "both red and professional", always proud and steadfast on the path of serving the nation.

In a solemn and sacred atmosphere, provincial leaders, along with a large number of union members, youth and people, respectfully offered flowers and incense at the Memorial of heroic martyrs.

Thousands of candles were lit at each grave at the Dalat Martyrs Cemetery, expressing deep gratitude to those who dedicated their lives to the Fatherland.
On the same evening, at Binh Thuan Martyrs Cemetery and Dak Nong Martyrs Cemetery, the Candle Lighting Ceremony to honor heroic martyrs was also held in a solemn, respectful and sacred atmosphere.

At Binh Thuan Martyrs Cemetery, the candle lighting ceremony to pay tribute to the martyrs was attended by representatives of departments, branches and sectors; leaders of the Defense Command of Region 5 - Phan Thiet, Air Force Regiment 915; local leaders and 500 union members and youth in the area.



In a solemn and emotional atmosphere, representatives of departments, branches, and a large number of union members, youth, and local people offered flowers, incense, and lit candles of gratitude on more than 9,000 graves at Binh Thuan Martyrs' Cemetery.
