Accordingly, based on the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the students' request for direct admission, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong signed a decision to recognize the admission of 651 students eligible for direct admission to grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools for the 2023-2024 school year.
Among them are 105 students from ethnic boarding schools; 391 students with disabilities; 154 students who won national and international awards in culture, science and technology, arts, and sports competitions, and 1 student from an ethnic minority.
According to regulations, students who are admitted directly must complete the admission procedures at the high school they registered for direct admission within the prescribed time: Confirm admission from July 10-12; submit admission application from July 19-22.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training issued a document guiding the conditions for direct admission to grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools next school year, which stipulates that students who win national prizes in competitions organized or jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and Training must pass the basic level competition (school level, Department of Education and Training level) and be selected and allowed to participate by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
Students who win national prizes in cultural, artistic and sports competitions organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism must be selected and permitted to participate by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
Students who win prizes in regional and international competitions must be selected and permitted to participate by the Ministry of Education and Training or the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.
For the "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smiles" contest, the regulation on direct admission to grade 10 only applies to students who won national prizes before the 2020-2021 school year and were selected by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to participate.
The direct admission condition is that the student (or the student's father, mother, or guardian) has a permanent residence in Hanoi and belongs to the direct admission subjects according to regulations.
Students may only be admitted directly to a public high school within the enrollment area where the student (or the student's father, mother, or guardian) has permanent residence.
In case students are eligible for direct admission but do not wish to be directly admitted, they must take the entrance exam to grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools for the 2023-2024 school year on June 10-11.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi will be held in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language over 2 days from June 10-11.
Specifically, on the morning of June 10, students will take the Literature exam with a time limit of 120 minutes. The exam will be graded on a 10-point scale, multiplied by a factor of 2.
On the afternoon of June 10, students will take the Foreign Language exam, with a duration of 60 minutes. The exam is graded on a 10-point scale, with a coefficient of 1. For the Foreign Language exam, candidates will choose one of the following languages: English, French, German, Japanese, Korean. Candidates can register to take a foreign language other than the language they are studying at secondary school.
On the morning of June 11, students took the Math exam, with 120 minutes to complete.
