(To Quoc) - In the current context, promoting the value of Nguyen Dynasty bronze bells through tourism activities is a solution suggested by experts to preserve the values of this precious heritage.

Recently, the National Scientific Conference "Bronze Bells of the Nguyen Dynasty - From Buddhist Philosophy to Visual Arts" held in Hue City (Thua Thien Hue Province) attracted the attention of researchers and lovers of fine arts and culture in general and Buddhist culture and fine arts in particular. The event was organized to research, preserve and promote the cultural and artistic values of bronze bells of the Nguyen Dynasty not only in the spiritual field but also in the field of culture and arts.

Nguyen Dynasty bronze bell - heritage treasure

The bronze bells of the Nguyen Dynasty are one of the unique and important cultural heritages of Vietnam, bearing the imprint of Buddhist philosophy and rituals. During the Nguyen Dynasty, bronze bells, with their sophisticated craftsmanship and decoration of Buddhist symbols, were not only a tool in religious ceremonies at pagodas, but also a means of spreading Buddhist teachings, contributing to strengthening faith and solidarity in the community.

The Nguyen Dynasty bronze bell is one of the unique and important cultural heritages of Vietnam.

According to Professor Trinh Sinh, bronze bells of the Nguyen Dynasty reached the peak of Vietnamese bell casting art, typically the bronze bells in the ancient capital of Hue . This is where the power of the nation is concentrated, and also where there is a bronze casting village that gathers skilled craftsmen from many bronze casting villages across the country.

In addition to bells in village pagodas, in Hue there are very famous bells such as the Great Bell in Thien Mu Pagoda, Ngo Mon Bell (Hue Imperial City)... "The bronze bells of the Nguyen Dynasty are a heritage treasure, along with the relics of pagodas, temples, and shrines to exploit for tourism in the "cultural industry", which has been and is on the way of development and integration of the country", Professor, Dr. Trinh Sinh acknowledged.

With such values, Prof. Dr. Trinh Sinh said that the Nguyen Dynasty bronze bells need to be preserved and protected to avoid loss. On the other hand, there needs to be traditional education for generations of Vietnamese people to understand the value of this type of tangible cultural heritage as priceless, proving that the Vietnamese people are a civilized nation.

Discussing the bronze bells of the Nguyen Dynasty, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Training (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) assessed that this is a topic that is both ancient and extremely modern, not only exploring the unique cultural and artistic values of the Nguyen Dynasty but also emphasizing the important role of these values in training activities in the field of modern art.

The exhibition displays images of some patterns on Nguyen Dynasty bronze bells.

Bronze bells, with their resonant sounds and delicate shapes, are not only unique works of art but also vivid symbols of Buddhist philosophy, expressing the ideas of beauty, harmony and compassion. The decorative patterns on bronze bells not only reflect the technical level and craftsmanship of the artisans but also contain profound philosophies, which can inspire not only generations of artists but also art lovers in discovering and honoring traditional cultural and artistic values.

"History is always an endless source of inspiration for artistic creation. And the Nguyen bronze bell is a vivid proof of that. The bells are not only a legacy of the past but also a source of inspiration for contemporary art," Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Tuan suggested a direction for exploiting artistic value.

Preservation and promotion of effectiveness are urgent requirements.

The Nguyen Dynasty bronze bell is not only a religious cultural heritage but also a unique cultural symbol, carrying many historical, artistic and spiritual values in the history of the nation. However, the preservation and promotion of the Nguyen Dynasty bronze bell is facing many challenges.

Researching on this issue, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao and Dr. Trinh Thi Ha (Central University of Art Education) said that implementing effective conservation and promotion solutions is an urgent requirement, to ensure not only the existence of bronze bells but also to preserve the cultural values our ancestors left for future generations.

To achieve this, close coordination between the government, cultural experts and local communities is needed to develop a comprehensive conservation and promotion strategy. Raising community awareness of the importance of cultural heritage, combined with sustainable development solutions, will be a decisive factor in maintaining the value of the Nguyen Dynasty bronze bells for future generations.

Some proposed solutions include: Preserving the Nguyen Dynasty bronze bells with specific technical measures; Educating and raising public awareness; Applying digital technology to digitize all information and images related to bronze bells, including history, cultural and artistic values; Preserving and promoting values associated with sustainable tourism development.

In order to develop sustainable tourism associated with the preservation and promotion of Nguyen Dynasty bronze bells, it is necessary to design and implement specialized cultural tours. The tours may include activities such as explaining the history and significance of bronze bells, visiting local religious architectural works and participating in religious cultural festivals held at pagodas. In particular, it is necessary to focus on creating interactive programs, such as traditional craft classes, to help visitors better understand the art and techniques of making bronze bells.

In addition, it is also very important to promote the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage through tourism activities. It is necessary to encourage tourists to participate in conservation and promotion activities such as donating or participating in heritage protection programs. This will not only increase awareness of conservation and promotion of cultural heritage but also create financial resources to support activities to conserve and promote the value of the Nguyen bronze bell in the future. The ultimate goal is to develop sustainable tourism while still preserving cultural identity, creating harmony between tourism and conservation, promoting the value of heritage.
