My Son Museum is a project that contributes very importantly to the improvement of the landscape of the area to welcome visitors, preserve and display artifacts, and provide information to visitors before visiting My Son relics.
The museum is also a very impressive and useful architecture for other activities such as heritageeducation programs, community activities and visitors. The museum is meaningful and symbolic of the friendship between Japan and Vietnam.
The My Son Cultural Heritage Management Board has added a thematic exhibition room on excavation results and conservation of Group G, a general heritage exhibition room; added a national treasure exhibition Mukhaling; added surveillance cameras, and animated image information screens. Maximized use of the artifact preservation room; and planted additional trees around the museum.
However, after 20 years, My Son Museum needs attention and support from the Consulate General of Japan and JICA on issues such as: The electrical system and the My Son relic map control panel at the permanent exhibition room are no longer working; the fire alarm system has not been installed; the security system is no longer working and minor damage from other items needs to be repaired and maintained.
According to statistics, from a very low rate of only 1% of visitors to My Son visiting the museum in 2011, up to now, about 30% of visitors to My Son relics visit the My Son Museum.
