Arrest of suspect who stole a series of high voltage pole braces

Hao is the suspect in a series of thefts of tie bars installed on electric poles and 110kV transformer stations in many communes and wards in Ninh Hoa town that Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company (PC Khanh Hoa ) is managing. Hao also has a previous conviction for property theft.

On the same morning, Ninh Hoa Town Police discovered Hao hiding in Ninh Thuy Ward and proceeded to arrest him. At the investigation agency, Hao initially confessed to stealing many braces installed on high-voltage power grid poles in the area.

Previously, on the evening of October 4, Ninh Hoa Town Police discovered and seized 276 electric pole braces, weighing about 5 tons, at a scrap collection facility in Ninh Binh Commune (Ninh Hoa Town). This was also the facility where the suspect brought the braces to sell after stealing them.

The electric pole brace was stolen, leaving only the main frame.

Previously, on October 2, Khanh Hoa PC received a report from the people about the theft of steel braces on some 110 kV electric poles. The company urgently organized an inspection and discovered that 7 locations of 110 kV electric poles had their steel braces stolen, located in Ninh Dong and Ninh An communes, Ninh Hoa town. The estimated value of property damage was about 200 million VND.

Through initial investigation, the number of electrical equipment lost is much larger, the number of high voltage poles and power lines stolen from many units has also increased. The investigation agency is continuing to clarify the case.

According to Khanh Hoa PC, the act of stealing or dismantling power grid equipment is illegal and seriously threatens the safety of the national power system, especially during the rainy season.
