On December 25th, the Thanh Khe District Police ( Da Nang City) extradited Nguyen Minh Son (40 years old, residing in Tam Thuan Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang City), a fugitive wanted by the police, from Gia Lai to Da Nang City to continue processing his case of fraud and appropriation of property.
Previously, Son was charged with fraud by the Thanh Khe District Police Investigation Agency. Son fled in October and a nationwide warrant was issued for his arrest.
The Criminal Investigation Team of Thanh Khe District Police, in coordination with Dak Djrang Commune Police, arrested Nguyen Minh Son.
The Criminal Investigation Team of Thanh Khe District Police verified that, while on the run from the police, Son took his girlfriend, PTTP (42 years old, residing in Dai Dong commune, Dai Loc district, Quang Nam province), and his daughter to Dak Djrang commune (Mang Yang district, Gia Lai province).
Here, Son used a new name and sought work on coffee, passion fruit, and other industrial crop farms. He entrusted his daughter to his girlfriend's care in the E Tu village residential area and then lived in the fields, avoiding contact with outsiders.
Following verification at the Dak Djrang Commune Police, the Criminal Investigation Team of Thanh Khe District Police devised a plan to surround and apprehend Son. Late on December 19th, while Son was sleeping in his passion fruit plantation, the detectives raided the place and subdued him.
Initially, Son was defiant, claiming the police had arrested the wrong person because he had been working as a laborer in the Central Highlands for a long time. However, faced with evidence and persistent questioning from the police, Son admitted to the fraud and then fled to avoid arrest.
