Arrested pervert harassing female student at the gate of University of Commerce

Responding to VTC News on April 11, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Viet Thai, Head of the Department of External Relations and Communications, University of Commerce confirmed the information about the arrest of a subject who harassed and made rude comments to a female student in front of the school gate.

On two consecutive days, February 13 and 14, at the school's side gate (85 Mai Dich), a strange man appeared, performing obscene acts right in front of the school gate to tease female students.

Immediately afterwards, the student reported to the school to coordinate with the police to verify the information and monitor the stranger.

The pervert appeared at the side gate of the University of Commerce.

On April 9, the Criminal Police Department, Hanoi City Police arrested the subject who harassed female students of the University of Commerce.

Mr. Thai advised students that when encountering similar cases, they should boldly report to the school and take pictures of the subjects to help the police quickly handle the matter.

“ The school integrates political activities into the first-term political meetings so that students can understand. The city police have a handbook to guide students, especially female students, on what to do if they encounter sexual harassment,” Mr. Thai shared.

Since mid-February 2023, on the confession page of the University of Commerce (Hanoi), many students have expressed concern about the situation of some perverts regularly appearing in front of the school gate, approaching female students to commit depraved acts.

Many students, especially female students, were frightened. According to many female students, this person often stood in 3-4 different places early in the morning or late at night. For those who did not pay attention, the subject would whistle and pull the hand. In some cases, this person left his position and approached the female students to attract their attention.

Not only appearing at the gate of the University of Commerce, perverts also appeared at other schools such as the University of Foreign Languages (Hanoi National University)...
