Robusta Coffee Price London July 30, 2025

The London Robusta coffee market on July 30, 2025 recorded a simultaneous price decrease in all major trading terms. The 09/2025 futures contract decreased by 121 USD to 3,237 USD/ton, equivalent to a decrease of 3.6%.

The following terms also recorded negative decreases, including: 11/2025 decreased by 113 USD (3.42%) to 3,195 USD/ton, 01/2026 decreased by 114 USD (3.48%) to 3,163 USD/ton, 03/2026 decreased by 118 USD (3.63%) to 3,130 USD/ton and 05/2026 decreased by 83 USD (2.58%) to 3,135 USD/ton.

The market is also worried about the possibility of the US imposing a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods if the two sides do not reach a trade deal by Friday, which could send coffee prices soaring and disrupt supplies from Brazil — the world's largest producer of arabica, according to Barchart.

Barchart said that the strong short position of investment funds in robusta coffee could cause prices to rise sharply if short covering occurs.

Hedge funds increased their net short position in ICE robusta contracts by 3,334 contracts to a total of 4,628 net short contracts in the week ended July 22 — the highest in two years, ICE Futures Europe said.

According to Reuters, traders said the recent decline in robusta coffee prices was mainly due to abundant supplies, as harvests in Indonesia and Brazil are progressing well and crop prospects in Vietnam - the leading robusta producer - are generally quite favorable.

New York Arabica Coffee Price July 30, 2025

Arabica coffee prices on the New York floor on July 30, 2025 recorded a decrease across all trading terms. The nearest term in September 2025 decreased by 12.45 cents, equivalent to 4.13%, to 289.25 cents/lb.

Subsequent maturities such as December 2025 and March 2026 also decreased by 11.55 cents (3.92%) and 11.35 cents (3.94%) respectively. Further maturities such as May 2026 and July 2026 also recorded decreases of 11.05 cents (3.91%) and 10.8 cents (3.9%) respectively.

Coffee growers in Vassouras, in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro state, are hoping for a last-minute reprieve before the country is hit with a 50% tariff on exports to the United States.

Earlier this month, US President Donald Trump announced new tariffs, including an increase in duties on imports from Brazil from 10% to 50%, effective August 1. Producers of coffee and other commodities hope to find a solution before then.

Brazil is the world's largest producer and exporter of coffee. About a third of the coffee consumed in the United States — the world's largest coffee consumer — comes from Brazil, which in recent years has exported about 8 million 60-kilogram (132-pound) bags of coffee to the United States each year, according to industry associations.

“There will be a surplus of coffee in Brazil and the trend is for prices to fall, until they find a way to export to other countries,” said a coffee farmer in Brazil.

According to the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), coffee is an important industry in Vietnam's agricultural sector. In 2024, Vietnam exported over 1.34 million tons of coffee, bringing in a turnover of nearly 5.7 billion USD.

In the first six months of 2025, Vietnam exported about 995,000 tons of coffee, with an export turnover of nearly 5.5 billion USD, an increase of nearly 5% in volume and 66.2% in turnover over the same period in 2024.

Coffee is mainly grown in the Central Highlands and the Northwest mountainous region (Son La, Dien Bien). Currently, the coffee industry has about 650,000 coffee farming households, mainly ethnic minorities in the mountainous region, and about 2 million workers are dependent on the chain of coffee production, processing, and export business activities.

Coffee has long been an important industry helping to stabilize social security in the Central Highlands and Northwest regions of Vietnam.
