Unexpectedly, there are more "strangers" in VNeID

In early August 2023, many readers reported to SGGP Newspaper about the shortcomings when using the Electronic Identification Application (VNeID) to do administrative procedures, such as: paying taxes, doing procedures at the airport, doing medical examination and treatment procedures... and the most surprising thing was the appearance of "strangers" who were related to the user as children, grandchildren, household heads...

Talking to SGGP Newspaper reporter, Mr. H. (residing in Nguyen Cu Trinh ward, district 1) was upset that when he bought a new mobile phone, he installed the VNeID application but could not use it.

At this time, Mr. H. opened the VneID application on his old phone and saw that inside there were only him and his father, while his family had more than 10 members.

After that, Mr. H. opened the VNeID application on his mother's phone and discovered that there were 4 more "strangers" in the population. Among them, there was a "stranger" named Nguyen Thi Manh, the "Head of Household" in his family.

People said that, in addition to the appearance of "strangers", sometimes the VNeID application cannot integrate driver's licenses and there are also errors in residence information.

A reader in Binh Chanh district said that at the end of July 2023, he took a plane from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. When he used VNeID (registered to use a level 2 electronic identification account) to check in at the airport, the airport staff asked him to present his ID card.

Similarly, reader A. in District 10 also had to present his insurance book after presenting his chip-embedded ID card to complete the medical examination procedure at District 10 Hospital.

According to the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (PC06), Ho Chi Minh City Police, for errors in information data, people need to contact the local police, district police, Thu Duc City (where they reside) to request corrections. Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police are still making efforts to clean up data for local people.
