On May 26, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Australian Agency for International Development (Australian Aid) jointly organized a forum on developing school-enterprise cooperation at the University of Technology (VNU-HCM).
At the forum, the Ministry of Education and Training compiled statistics on the employment situation of students 12 months after graduation from 2018-2021 for 22 training fields.
Accordingly, the training fields of agriculture, forestry and fisheries; environment and environmental protection; production and processing, computers and information technology, engineering technology, arts, health, social services... maintain a high rate of student employment.
In the field of environment and environmental protection alone, the rate of students having jobs after 12 months of graduation has gradually increased over time, reaching 96.3% in 2021.
In many other fields, the employment rate of students is also very good, from 82.5% and above. Specifically:
Assessing the difficulties in student employment, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training said that students' qualifications and abilities are still limited, especially in high-tech fields.
The number of enterprises cooperating with the school is not small, but the quality of cooperation still needs attention. In addition, there are objective difficulties such as natural disasters, epidemics, and business situations. Surveys by many training institutions are still perfunctory. Human resource forecasting has not been done well...

The Ministry of Education and Training believes that in order to train university students in line with the needs of the labor market, human resource planning is a decisive factor. Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training continues to improve regulations on improving the quality of lecturers, educational administrators and training at all levels of university education.
For higher education institutions, it is necessary to implement well the recommendations and requirements on career guidance and job counseling in higher education and vocational institutions. Propaganda and raising awareness among learners about the importance of choosing a career and training level suitable to their abilities; professional qualifications are necessary conditions, foreign languages and soft skills are sufficient conditions for workers to find suitable jobs.
