Developing an EUDR Adaptive Coffee Supply Chain
On the afternoon of March 11, within the framework of the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025, Ede Farm Trading and Service Company Limited (Miss Ede) in collaboration with Simexco Daklak held a press conference to announce its commitment to long-term cooperation in developing a coffee export supply chain that meets the European Union's Non-Encroachment on Natural Forests (EUDR) certification and officially announced information on the export of 2 containers of Miss Ede-branded finished coffee to the United States.
Mr. Hoang Danh Huu - Founder of Miss Ede, shared at the press conference.
Mr. Hoang Danh Huu - Founder of Miss Ede, said that in order to meet the current strict import regulations for coffee products into the market of countries in the European Union (EU), Simexco Daklak and Miss Ede have agreed to continue long-term cooperation on the commitment to build a raw coffee supply chain to produce Miss Ede brand coffee with EUDR certification for the purpose of exporting finished coffee products to the EU market from 2025.
In particular, Simexco Daklak commits to fully meet the output and cultivation area data clearly identified by data verified by 4C - EUDR and Rainforest Alliance - EUDR certificates (when completed) for Miss Ede when receiving orders, aiming to export to the EU market.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Deputy General Director of Simexco Daklak, shared at the press conference.
“For its part, Miss Ede is committed to fully complying with the legal regulations of each certificate to ensure the provision of complete information on the exact raw material area provided by Simexco Daklak to serve the retrieval of EUDR information for consumers and law enforcement agencies of EU countries,” said Mr. Hoang Danh Huu.
Continue to conquer the US market
Also at the press conference, the founder of Miss Ede said that after the success of the first coffee container (late 2024) with 18,000 finished coffee packages that arrived at the port, were on shelves and reached consumers in the United States. At the end of March and early April, Miss Ede will continue to export the next 2 containers with a total of 42,000 coffee packages to this demanding market.
Ms. Phuong Linh - Miss Ede's partner in the US market, shares information.
Of which, 1 container contains 24,000 Miss Ede brand roasted ground coffee packages 250g and 1 container contains 18,000 Miss Ede brand roasted coffee bean packages 5 lb (equivalent to 2.27kg) to serve the coffee shop chain.
“All of these coffee products are processed from non-encroachment cultivation areas of natural forests, operated by Simexco Daklak,” Mr. Hoang Danh Huu affirmed, adding that this export expansion demonstrates the recognition of US consumers – one of the most demanding markets in the world – for Buon Ma Thuot coffee in general and Miss Ede coffee in particular.
Ms. Phuong Linh - Miss Ede's partner in the US market, assessed that Miss Ede's coffee can completely compete fairly with Robusta varieties currently available in the US. In some aspects such as balance in flavor and stability between roasting batches, Miss Ede's products are even superior.
Miss Ede representative signed bilateral cooperation with Korean enterprise.
“With the positive results from the first container, we are very confident in the potential of Miss Ede and have decided to continue to cooperate with the company in the next shipments. We look forward to developing a sustainable relationship together and bringing Vietnamese coffee closer to the US market, not only as an alternative but also as one of the top quality products,” Ms. Phuong Linh affirmed.
Bilateral cooperation with Korean partners After 4 years of testing and 2 years of negotiation, Miss Ede and The Nanum Trading Company (Korea) officially signed a bilateral trade cooperation agreement, opening up new development opportunities in key markets. Accordingly, The Nanum Trading becomes the official importer of coffee and chocolate products of two brands Miss Ede and Simexco Daklak in the Korean market. Miss Ede becomes the distributor in Vietnam for Korean health drink products under the brand Serek of The Nanum Trading, focusing specifically on the travel and airport retail channel. |
