On May 28th, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director General of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, met with Mr. John Williams, Vice President for Southeast Asia at BBC Studios (part of the BBC Group), to discuss a proposed plan to produce the program "The Travel Show Special Vietnam" to promote Vietnamese tourism on BBC.
According to John Williams, the travel program The Travel Show on BBC TV is attracting a large audience worldwide .

The Travel Show will take viewers on an adventure of discovery and experience alongside real-life characters, creating memories together. In particular, the participants in the BBC program have diverse experiences and backgrounds, affirming the BBC's commitment to travel for all, thereby conveying a positive message and inspiring people to travel and explore the people and culture of their country.
This project, proposed by the BBC, is called The Travel Show Special Vietnam, and consists of two 23-minute episodes, scheduled to air in October 2024. The goal of The Travel Show Special Vietnam is to promote the image of Vietnam as a beautiful and attractive destination, with friendly people, a long history, and a rich cultural identity. Mr. John Williams believes this is a great opportunity for the BBC and the Vietnam National Tourism Administration to collaborate in promoting and spreading the image of Vietnamese tourism worldwide.
Director Nguyen Trung Khanh highly appreciated BBC TV's idea and affirmed his readiness to support the film crew in carrying out this special project, and will assign relevant units under the Department to coordinate in the implementation process.
Previously, Vietnam's tourism industry has promoted its destinations on various BBC channels on numerous occasions.
