DIFF 2026 is large-scale, lasts for an extended period, and attracts a large number of locals and tourists, therefore the requirements for ensuring security, order, and safety are very high.
Colonel Phan Van Thi, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Da Nang City Border Guard, said that the city's Border Guard has developed a specific implementation plan, assigning tasks strictly to each agency and unit; proactively preparing forces and equipment, ready to effectively handle any situations arising before, during, and after the festival.
As the force tasked by the City People's Committee with protecting the water area and ensuring security and order on the Han River, the City Border Guard Command has proactively developed coordination plans with the Police, the Army, and other relevant units to ensure absolute safety for the city's biggest cultural and tourism event of the year.
According to the plan, throughout the duration of DIFF 2026, the Border Guard of Da Nang city will mobilize 8 ships, 20 boats and canoes, along with more than 300 officers and soldiers to conduct patrols and control on the Han River and surrounding areas.

The forces are strategically deployed in key locations and areas to closely monitor watercraft operations, promptly detect and prevent acts that disrupt security and order, and be ready to participate in rescue operations when necessary.
Colonel Phan Van Thi emphasized that the main task of the city's Border Guard force is to ensure absolute safety for activities in the assigned area; strictly maintain the combat readiness duty regime; proactively mobilize forces and equipment to handle unexpected situations; and coordinate to protect the safety of residents, tourists, and forces participating in serving the festival.
In addition, the unit is developing a plan to control and coordinate tourist boats operating on the Han River and in the mooring areas; deploying forces to block fishing boats and other unauthorized watercraft from entering the fireworks display area.
Inspection and control of tourist boat operations have also been tightened to prevent overloading or failure to ensure adequate safety equipment.
To proactively respond to emergencies, the city's Border Guard Command, in coordination with the 115 Emergency Center, deployed medical personnel on boats and vessels manning checkpoints on the river, ready to provide first aid when needed. Simultaneously, they coordinated with other functional forces to survey and manage waterway traffic, establishing safe zones for the fireworks display.
In addition to the water area, the Border Guard Force also assigned officers and soldiers to man checkpoints at both ends of Thuan Phuoc Bridge and Dragon Bridge; coordinating with the Police and Army forces to ensure security and order on key routes such as Bach Dang, Tran Hung Dao, Nhu Nguyet, Song Han Bridge, Thuan Phuoc Bridge… to serve the people and tourists participating in the festival.
Through the dress rehearsal, the forces reviewed and perfected coordination procedures, enhanced their ability to handle real-life situations, and demonstrated a sense of responsibility and determination to ensure absolute security and safety for DIFF 2026, contributing to the overall success of the festival and building an image of Da Nang as a safe and friendly city in the eyes of residents and tourists.
