Closing ceremony of the Trade Union Training Course for Lao officials

Reporting on the results of the training course, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Confederation of Labor Le Dinh Hung said that with the consent of the Central Party Secretariat, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee; implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on friendly cooperation between the Hanoi Confederation of Labor and the Vientiane Capital Confederation of Labor for the period 2022-2027, the Hanoi Confederation of Labor coordinated with the Trade Union University to organize a Training course on Trade Union Theory for 19 officials of the Vientiane Capital Confederation of Labor, Vientiane Province and Luang Prabang Province of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

During the 45-day period (from September 6 to October 20) of studying in Hanoi, the students studied 215 theory sessions with 9 subjects; 11 skills topics and 185 practice sessions, discussing, reviewing, exchanging, and learning practical experiences at the facility.

Theoretical learning content includes lectures on issues such as: Basic issues of Vietnam Trade Unions; Labor Law and Trade Union Law; Building healthy labor relations; Trade unions representing and protecting the legal and legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; Trade unions participating in management; Trade unions propagating and mobilizing union members and workers; Organizational and staff work of Vietnam Trade Unions; Trade unions and occupational safety and hygiene; Trade union finance, economics , and social insurance; Issues facing current trade union organizations; Skills in propagating and mobilizing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, etc.

In addition to theoretical lessons, discussions, and exchange of experiences in Trade Union activities in class, the students went to exchange and learn practical experiences at the Labor Federation of Hai Phong City, Quang Ninh Province, Ninh Binh Province; Hanoi Construction Trade Union; Hanoi Transport Corporation Trade Union; Hanoi Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union; Labor Federations of some districts, towns, and cities in the area... and visited some scenic spots in Vietnam.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen and leaders of the Trade Union University awarded Certificates of Merit to students.

At the end of the course, students will be awarded a Certificate of completion of the training program in theory and professional work of trade unions by the Trade Union University.

Receiving certificates at the closing ceremony, the trainees expressed their sincere thanks to the Organizing Committee of the training course; at the same time, they said that during the course, they received attention, help and favorable conditions from the staff of the Hanoi Labor Federation, teachers and lecturers of the Trade Union University.

Through the training course, the trainees were fully equipped with knowledge from theory to practice to improve the quality and efficiency of the Lao trade union staff.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen expressed her joy at the results of the students and affirmed that these results contributed to consolidating and enhancing the friendship, solidarity and special cooperation between Vietnam and Laos as well as the traditional friendship between the capital Hanoi and the provinces of Vientiane and Luang Prabang.

Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee suggested that the Hanoi City Labor Federation and the Confederation of Labor of Vientiane Capital, Vientiane Province and Luang Prabang Province continue to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences in the fields of training and fostering cadres; protecting the legitimate interests of workers, as well as issues related to comprehensive cooperation between the two capitals and Vientiane Province and Luang Prabang Province.

At the same time, continue to develop plans and effectively implement the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Labor Federations of the two cities for the period 2022 - 2027.
