
This year's competition brought together over 300 athletes from 26 units across provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide. The athletes competed in a total of 259 matches in men's and women's weight categories across two age groups: 17-18 and 19-40, delivering many exciting and high-quality competitions.
The organizers assessed that many young athletes displayed good technique, confident competitive spirit, and promising potential for development. The tournament served as an opportunity to assess the team's strength and prepare for upcoming national competitions, especially the 10th National Sports Games later this year.
At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded 54 sets of medals, including 54 gold, 54 silver, and 108 bronze medals, along with certificates to outstanding athletes. They also awarded overall team prizes for men and women in the 17-18 and 19-40 age groups, as well as the overall team prize. First place went to Hanoi ; second place to Ho Chi Minh City 1; and third place to Nghe An.
The Lao Cai Boxing team had 15 athletes competing in various weight categories. With thorough preparation and determination, the Lao Cai team won 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, and 3 bronze medals; and also ranked third overall in the women's 17-18 age group.
This result confirms the development of the local boxing movement and the effectiveness of the selection, training, and coaching of young athletes in Lao Cai province in recent years.
Successfully hosting the tournament affirms Lao Cai's capacity to organize large-scale sporting events, contributing to promoting the image of the land, people, and cultural identity of Lao Cai's ethnic groups to friends both domestically and internationally.
