City International Hospital (CIH) announced that it has successfully saved the life of Zhong Huai Rong, a 55-year-old Chinese national, who suffered a stroke.
The patient was brought to CIH with suspected stroke, a history of hypertension for many years, and was unable to stand or walk on their own. The medical team immediately activated the emergency stroke protocol.
Following crucial interventions during the golden hour, the patient is transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for monitoring.
The in-depth evaluation revealed that the patient suffered from acute right brainstem and pons infarction, complete occlusion of the right vertebral artery due to thrombosis on an atherosclerotic background, and basilar artery stenosis.
This is a particularly important area of the nervous system, controlling many vital functions such as breathing, swallowing, and movement. A stroke in this location carries a high risk of death.

A patient's letter expressing gratitude to the CIH medical team.
Following treatment with the correct procedures, the patient recovered and was able to walk again.
Leaving a thank-you note on the day of discharge, the patient shared: "When I was brought to the hospital urgently, I had no family, no insurance, no money, no time, and needed immediate emergency care. Then I underwent surgery."
Mr. Zhong Huai Rong also expressed his deep gratitude to the doctors and nurses for their dedicated, attentive, responsible, and professional care throughout his treatment.
