On September 5th, Cho Ray Hospital held a ceremony to announce the successful implementation of electronic medical records (EMR).

Mr. Pham Thanh Viet, deputy director in charge of management and operations at Cho Ray Hospital, said that the hospital's electronic medical records now basically meet all regulations and effectively serve daily medical examination and treatment activities.

Currently, the hospital is collaborating with the software development unit to continue building additional functions, utilities, and features to make the usage process simpler, more efficient, minimize errors, and allow more time to care for patients.

In the long term, the hospital will expand the application of information technology to many areas beyond medical examination and treatment, including administration, management, hospital management, and logistics, with the goal of moving towards a paperless hospital model.

Following this direction, all hospital operations will be run on a software platform, meeting the requirements of Project 06 and becoming one of the model hospitals in healthcare digital transformation.

Dr. Nguyen Van Quan, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training ( Ministry of Health ), stated that Cho Ray Hospital is responsible for healthcare services in the South, Southeast, Central Highlands regions, and even Cambodia.

Once hospitals implement electronic medical records, lower-level units can follow suit. This is a breakthrough for the healthcare industry.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance Department, highly appreciated the hospital's efforts in implementing electronic medical records, noting that in a short period of time, the hospital had completed the electronic medical record system and it was running smoothly, quickly, and accurately, benefiting both the hospital and the social insurance agency.

Mr. Nguyen Tri Thuc, Deputy Minister of Health, assessed that the hospital was slow in implementing electronic medical records and lagged behind, but had the advantage of learning from other units, avoiding obstacles, and developing a complete electronic medical record system, putting it into operation on schedule.
