From July 8th to now, Hai Duong Children's Hospital has received and provided free screening for nearly 30 children with signs of precocious puberty. Children with suspected signs of precocious puberty have symptoms such as: abnormally early body development; body odor, acne, early breast development; voice changes, rapid height growth, psychological changes...
Children coming for examination will be screened and given in-depth consultation; hand bone X-ray; blood hormone test; ultrasound of uterus and ovaries (for girls). Children will be consulted, counseled and treated if indicated. During the screening process, if other diseases are detected, the child will be transferred to the hospital's specialized departments for further examination.
According to specialists at Hai Duong Children's Hospital, the number of children with early puberty is on the rise. Early puberty occurs more often in girls, reducing their height by 10-12 cm compared to their potential and significantly affecting their psychology. This is an alarming situation in young children.
Precocious puberty is treated with monthly injections to delay puberty until the child is 10 years old.
The free screening program for precocious puberty for children is organized by Hai Duong Children's Hospital in collaboration with GIGAMED Pharmaceutical Company Limited. The program will last until July 15.
