The secret to helping 4 Blackpink beauties stay in shape

VnExpressVnExpress08/07/2023

Pilates, flying yoga, high-intensity dancing and a salt-free diet help Black Pink members stay slim but still full of energy.

On July 26, Korean girl group Blackpink officially chose Vietnam as the next destination in their tour. The concert will be held on July 29 and 30. Born Pink World Tour is the group's second world tour to promote their Korean studio album of the same name.

Before each world tour, Blackpink, like other K-pop idols, must constantly stay in shape to look good on stage, on LED screens, and in tour documentary DVDs that will be released later. Each member of the group has a separate diet and exercise regimen based on their physical condition and health.

Jennie practices Pilates and avoids salt

Jennie has a slim figure, with sexy shoulders and a small waist. The Chanel brand ambassador shared her fitness tips with Cosmopolitan Korea in 2018, emphasizing finding the right habits for yourself and losing weight in a healthy way in the long term.

Jennie started practicing aerial yoga and Pilates three years ago and quickly fell in love with the practice. On her personal page, the singer posted many pictures of her impressive poses. In January 2020, Jennie said that she worked out every day, even during the Lunar New Year holiday.

In addition to working out hard, Jennie also maintains a salt-free diet to avoid bloating. The singer's daily healthy menu includes avocado salad combined with detox fruit juice.

Research from Tulane University, USA, shows that eating too much salt can reduce life expectancy by two years in men and 1.5 years in women. Scientists say that people who eat a lot of salt have a 28% higher risk of dying before the age of 75 than people who do not have this habit.

"Even a small reduction in sodium, by limiting daily salt intake, has significant health benefits," said professor Lu Qi, Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

A diet high in salt can raise blood pressure, increasing the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Rosé eats quality food and exercises effectively.

Rosé has long been known as a foodie. However, her passion goes beyond food. The Gone hitmaker is particularly fond of exercise. In episode 12 of her show Blackpink House, she shared that part of her routine is doing Pilates twice a day.

This could be the secret that helps Rosé maintain her 60cm waist, a measurement revealed on the show King of Mask Singer in 2017.

Pilates is for everyone, regardless of gender, age, race, body shape, ability or current fitness level. A session includes exercises on the mat and on specialized equipment.

Studies show that Pilates improves quality of life, has a positive impact on people with depression, and can reduce back pain.

The exercises mainly train the core strength - the center of the body, where all movements originate. If strengthened and flexible, all the muscles around the body will support and stabilize the body.

Pilates also helps improve posture, align the entire body, and expand range of motion. This is especially beneficial for idol singers who often have to appear in front of the camera.

Lisa dances to burn calories

When asked about her method of maintaining her slim figure while sitting on the judging panel of Youth With You, Lisa frankly replied: "I don't like dieting." The Blackpink dance machine said that her busy schedule has helped her work out to naturally have a toned body.

Lisa said that as a trainee, she practiced about 12 to 15 hours a day. "Usually, we had class from 12am to 12pm the next day. I often practiced until 3 or 4am. It was hard, but worth it," she said.

Looking at her powerful choreography, it's not hard to see how many calories her moves burn. In an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea, she said she loves dancing with the members and regularly drinks detox juices with Jennie.

According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, dancing improves cardiovascular health and aerobic fitness.

"Everyday movements like walking, climbing stairs, and regular exercises like cycling are great. However, they only work the vertical plane of the body. Dancing works all planes, including sideways and rotations, improving all the muscles, no muscle is left out," says professional dancer Jonathan Tylicki, director of education at AKT Dance Sports Center.

Jisoo eats small portions and practices dancing

Jisoo 's beauty and feminine body with wide hips are praised by many people. Sometimes, she also shows off her toned muscles, making fans admire and envy. However, her body type makes her gain weight easily, so the singer controls her diet and exercises as much as possible.

On the SBS Power FM radio show Choi Hwa-jung's Power Time in 2017, Jisoo said that the Blackpink members often share meals and eat small portions. The girls all enjoy eating, but usually don't eat too much, sharing dishes like fried chicken to limit their calorie intake.

On an episode of Knowing Bros, Jisoo said she eats ramen before photoshoots to make her cheeks a little chubbier. This is something the other members don't do. However, the Blackpink maknae has this habit because she wants to "have cute round cheeks."
